Hi all! I'm currently making copies of my DVD's for an external hard drive connected to my Xbox 360. I use DVD Shrink 3.2, and then use Xilisoft Video Converter. I use DVD Shrink at No Compression, as I only use it to Re-author. Am I right in thinking it degrades the quality unnecessarily if I compress it with DVD Shrink and then further with Xilisoft, rather than only one compression by Xilisoft? My question is which setting to use in Xilisoft, as there are many options (AVC/H.264; HD H264; MPED-4 HD etc.) So far I'm using AVC/H.264, as I want my files max 2GB. Is this the best setting, and am I correct in leaving it at 640x480, as the Xbox 360 upscales it anyway? My LCD TV uses 720p. Please let me know if I am unclear or more info needed. Thanks!
Yes, not needed. If the original is 720x480 I would keep it there. Although not familiar with Xilisoft's conversion abilities, in general those should look near perfect. For a free solution this is an often recommended app. http://www.winnydows.com/page.php?2
