Hello, today i won a lg lra-850. so far everything words great with one exception. I notice on the box it says its supports dvix and the LG website also lists this as xvid support. However a burned a dvd with a single folder containing several xvid avi files. This was burned using the built in file burner in windows vista. When this dvd is placed in the unit claims it cant be read and helpfully ejects it for me. Any idea where to start troubleshooting this?

I take it that the files are present in the folder when using explorer on the PC.

Try burning the folder with 'ImgBurn'.

Click 'Mode' > 'Build', then click on the little 'folder' icon and browse to its location.
You can opt to copy the folder with its contents or simply the contents of the folder.

    Hi mcspiff,

How do you like your LG LRA-850 ?

I just ordered one today from http://www.futureshop.ca (Canada)

    http://www.futureshop.ca/catalog/pr...angid=EN&sku_id=0665000FS10085862&catid=22226

Was on sale for $99.99can so I could not let it pass :)

    I read mixed reviews.

Either it's the best DVD Player (Recorder) you ever had, or it's the worst piece of junk they ever boughts.

I currently own an LG LRH-539 (250gb HDD DVD Recorder) and I love it to death :)

So if it's as good as my LRH-539 I'll be a real happy camper.

    Hi cougar_ii,
I was considering this for my parents, and was wondering if the LG LRA-850 is working well for you. Also, what is your setup - my parents use Rogers cable.

    Thx.

    Hi,

Well the $99.99 sale is over, it's back to it's normal price at $149.99

I did not try to play an Xvid /DivX file on it yet.
Did not try .MP3 and .JPG files, but I guess I should do that soon :)

I own a LG LRH-539 (250gb HDD DVD Recorder) which I really enjoy.
So going throught the menus and all was real easy.

Recording is great, used it a few time.

The only downside other customers said is that the sound is all MONO, the tuner is not stereo.

But I bought it for the kids, and I really enjoy it.

    I personally love LG.

I nothing negative to say about it.
