Xvid PAL to DVD-R NTSC?

Hi.

I have some Xvid PAL files that I'd like to convert to NTSC DVD-R for my mother. I have Adobe Premiere Elements.

When I try importing them, I get nothing but a black screen.

Can you help me?

 

Try use VSO (free version) to convert the xvid into dvd compliant format ( and change from pal to ntsc at the same time), then burn with e.g. Nero:

I managed to get a conversion into DVD from avi2dvd... is there any way to convert directly into Mpeg2? That way I could use Adobe Premiere Elements and make DVDs with menus.

 

Well, a lot of programs (e.g. Power Video Converter, X Video Converter) can do that.
