I have an XVid-movie, which I want to view. At first the video played smoothly, but I had no sound. I've fixed this by installing AC3, but now the sound works, but the video freezes, while audio playback continues.
I've tried both Windows Media Player and XVid;-) Player, but both show the same result.

Uninstall the codec, reboot, and reinstall the codec. If that doen't work then try another AC3 codec. You didn't install this AC3 codec as part of a codec pack did you?

No, it wasn't part of a codec pack. I'll try it. Thanx for the tip.

I guess you could also try uninstalling and reinstalling the xvid codec too. Bad thing about codecs is they sometimes don't like to behave if they aren't installed in a certain order.
