I am quite new to this stuff, but when I use TMPGenc to put my Xvid clips onto DVD they seem to 'stutter' when the picture scrolls horizontally or vertically. It's a bit like a series of mometary pauses.

The Xvid AVI looks fine on the PC screen so I guess there could be some encoding options or fine tuning I am missing in TMPGenc 3.0 Xpress

    Thanks

Did this happen after the conversion BUT before the final burning as well?

The Mpeg file generated by TMPGenc produces the stuttering, but I didn't check this before Authoring and burning the DVD's.

All I know is that the Xvid file is good, but the Mpeg from TMPGenc is bad.

I have Vso myself, and while it does an excellent job most of the time converting xvid and other avi formats to dvd it does sometimes have stuttering problems converting xvid pal formats to ntsc. Any suggestions how to allieviate this problem? Thanks

    @ 4McGuyver,

In your case, I'll try use some other encoding programs (e.g. Nero, DVDSanta).
