Hi all his is my first post so please be kind!

I have serached through many forums and have loads of guides on how to do the above but I get a little confused.

I have a Xvid (Xvid codec is installed on my PC) file I am trying to convert to DVD I have used the following

CUCUSOFT- lip sync out, 4 hrs
Nero Vision- No Sound, 3 hrs
    WINAVI - wont load AVI
    mainMP- lip sync out, 5hrs
Divx To DVD, no sound, 4 hrs

and VSo, which works fine but when I burn to DVDR the picture quality is not as good as original ( Maybe its in the Burning with Nero, I Will try this agian)

What I am after is the best way to do this what do some of you experts use and how please. I have read hat you can use WINDVD to do both all, converting to burn with just one click any feedback on this?

Itstaking me 4-6 hours per app to convert and has you can imagine its begining to give me grief.

    Please help.

There is no "best" way mate, there are just too many different ways. It always comes down to the encoder that you use for the XviD --> DVD conversion. For example, using a freeware encoder called HCEnc with Avi2DVD will produce some very nice quality, but might take wuite a while to finish the encoding process whereas CCE SP will produce absolutely fantadstc quality in very little time.

Intervideo gave got some other software besides WinDVD that can do so like WinDVD creator. In my experience its very easy to use, but I'd still recommend other options.

I'm sorry to tell you that in most cases that cant be helped, XviD to DVD does take a long time. Once again it simply depends on what method/programs you use to complete the task. Maybe some of these guides will help...

DVD2SVCD is a frontend for many programs so it'll do it all in a few steps for you.

Quality varies, you can use 3 or 4 different encoders, including CCE SP, an expensive but excellent quality solution.
