I've looked through the forums but can't find an answer that works for the following... I have an Xvid movie 640x272. I can convert this to DivX (as an expieriment using VirtualDub) and mp2 (TMPGenc)and these look great on the computer. I would like to burn the mp2 to DVD. My burning software insists on re-encoding this to mp2 becasue of the aspect ratio ('legal' mp2 for DVD must be 720x480). I keep trying to create a 720x480 outout with my movie centered but I can't get it to work. I alsways wind up with some other number. TMPGenc insists I also enter an aspect ratio for the output (16x9 being the closest) but none of these match to my 640x272 source. No matter what I do Sonic MYDVD insists on re-encoding resulting in lost quality and a great deal more time to create a DVD. How do I get TMPGenc to create the 'legal' mp2 that the burning software will pass through? TIA
Thanks for the reply but I kinda solved my problem. I bypassed Sonic MYDVD and went with IFOEDIT to do basic authoring and NERO to nurn the result. Works great and plays back great. I would have liked to added some fancier authoring options but they're realy not that important to me.
