hi i downloadeded a xvid avi and when i play it in media player it is upside down. is there a way of turning this around. thanks
Download VirtualDub. Start VDub and open the avi. Go to Video>Filters and click on 'Add', you'll see a long list of filters (effects). Double-click on 'Flip Vertically' and click OK, and OK again. You'll be able to preview the result by clicking on the 3rd button in from the bottom left hand corner (the button with the little zero on it). Choose your compression (Video>Compression), make sure 'Direct Stream Copy' is chosen for the audio and go to File>Save As AVI.
Generally a result of a bad YV12 to RGB colourspace conversion. Probably the video will be the correct way up in VDub. Speaking of YV12 to RGB conversions; flipping in VDub would require one. Converting to YV12-->RGB-->YV12 results in lower quality and longer encoding times.
