I have a problem playing certain XviD files on my Yamada 6700 and I don't know why, Normaly it's fine but I have these two movies which are in two parts each and they won't play. Any idea's what could be wrong?
Sorry to double post but I forgot to add, The files do eventually play after about 5mins of waiting but when they do actually play, It jumps/skips very noticeably.
I used AVIcodec as I already have it and this is what it says. File : 699 MB (699 MB), duration 0:56:34, type AVI, 1 audio stream(s), quality 76 % Video : 544 MB, 1345 Kbps, 25.0 fps, res. 640*256 (2.50:1), XVID = XVID Mpeg-4, Supported Audio : 155 MB, 384 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 6 chan., 0x2000 = AC3 DVM, Supported That should be ok shouldn't it?
Use AVIchecker. And paste the output into this thread. AVIcodec had told you it's a XVID with AC3 sound, not much else. Fish
Could you show me where to get the program you're talking about because I looked everywhere and all I found was "AVIcodec".
Yeh, sure, here is a working link http://fer.peque.org/descargas/avicheck.zip Run the program, then drag the avi on to the windows. Cut and paste the output into this thread. Fish
Ah yeah thats cool, Thanks, Here's the infomation, Anything I can do to make them work? File: ****************************************************** Total Streams: 2 Running Time: 0:56:34 Index Chunk: Yes Interleaved: Yes Max Bytes Per Sec: 0 AUDIO: 0 - AC3 (0x2000) Average Bitrate Per Sec: 384 kb/s Samples Rate: 48000 Hz Channels: 6 Bits Per Sample: 0 SuggestedBufferSize: 24000 Sample Size: 1 VIDEO: XVID B-VOP: Yes S(GMC)-VOP: No QuarterPixel: No Frame Size: 640 x 256 Frames Rate: 25.000 Color Depth: 12 Total Frames: 84859 SuggestedBufferSize: 109443
Nothing strange there, just a xvid with AC3 sound and packed bitstream (fairly high bitrate for both video and sound, not really high just more than you generally see). Are the 'jumps/skips' more like a stuttering, or are they big jumps. Also are you doing this from a CDRW? If so try from a DVDRW. If they are more like stuttering try mpeg4modifier. Also make sure you are burn the disk as ISO not UDF first.... So first chceck iso not udf, from a dvd rather than cd, then mpeg4modifier. Fish
They're massive jumps from the start to anywhere in the middle of the movie. I'm using a dvdr to play them on my Yamada 6700, Everything works fine normaly apart from these ones. I burn as ISO dvdr too, Not as an actual dvd.
By iso I meant not udf, rather than as dvd-video. If you are using nero then it's the top choice rather than one further down. But others that you burn are working fine then it's really strange and not udf. Is it opendml? Yamadas don't like opendml. Gspot or I think AVIMux_GUI should be able to tell you if it is opendml. I think. Maybe. After that maybe a re-encode with VirtualDub. Fish
OpenDML AVI Damn it! Is there a firmware that could sort this out or something? I thought it was the ultimate divx player
None of the divx players like opendml as far as I know......... Some PC applications don't like opendml either. AVIMux_GUI might be able to save it as a legacy avi without re-encoding, buggered if I know how. I would guess you load it in, select it, press setting, output, and then make sure opendml yadda is not selected then out and press start. If that don't work, then try VirtualDub with direct stream for both audio and video then and save. But I don't know if it will spew on AC3 sound tracks. Just tried it with a normal divx3 with AC3 sound and it worked fine so hey no spewing. Fish
Doing either of the above will take about 1 minute. It's worth a try so that you can get sick_porno_xvid_ac3.avi up and working on your 6700. If it doesn't work it's only a wasted couple of minutes. Fish
i'm having the same problem. i'm not finding a way to confirm if it is opemDML, but the size of the picture its (800x448). whats the max for a dvdplayer (752x456) ?? Thanks for the help
As you have already guessed the width is too large. 720 is the max width. Sorry You'll have to re-encode to a lower resolution. Max resolution is 720*576 in PAL, 720*480 in NTSC. So if you need to go 'Back to the Future', then re-encode. Fish
I'm having a very similar problem in that I have two movies that won't play on my yamada 6700, I have downloaded avichecker and the results are below. Any help here would be greatfull.
