Hello I am trying to burn copies of digital photos (jpegs) on a blank dvd. Keep illegal disk errors. It gets to about 5% and stops. Ive tried burning at 4x and still same. Ive upgraded my firmware as well. If anyone could help that would be great as I am ready to just get a new internal writer. here is the log file nero sent (also uninstallled nero and reinstalled) Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Nero\Nero 7\Core\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 11/2/2004 12:54:32 PM NT-SPTI used Nero Version: 7.5.13.2 Internal Version: 7, 5, 13, 2 (Nero Express) Recorder: <LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S>Version: BS0Y - HA 1 TA 0 - 7.5.13.2 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? You might try burning at 4X. You might try some 8X +R media at 4X burning speed as well. I had one of these burners and it refused to burn -R media. The firmware for this burner hasn't really been updated by Liteon for many moons. It's very old in technology years. Have you tried using ImgBurn to burn your files? It's free. It may be Nero Express doing the messing up. I'm just not familiar with the Nero Express version numbers to know how up to date this version is. Use the Build mode to create an ISO image file if you have VOB files and then the Write mode to burn the ISO image. If you already have an ISO file just proceed directly to the Write mode. You can, of course, use the Nero Image Recorder as the output device to create a Nero image file (extension NRG). ImgBurn will burn this in the same manner as a regular ISO image.
Thank you ...Ive tried all and this drive is just to old I hink. I went to best buy and got a HP Lightscribe DVD1040 for 50 bucks! Works like a charm
