i want to protect my pc for anti-virus i have PC cillen 2005 right now but i want to switch to a free one... one of these: Avast or AntirVir (not AVG because in all the reviews and such i read, Avast and AntiVir had better performance then AVG!). What are your opinions on Avast and AntiVir, i read that basically both of these are better than PC Cillen which isnt free. for anti-spyware i have Ad-Aware SE and Spybot Search & Destroy, thats good enough right? (how is that Windows anti-spyware thing?) for a firewall i am on a router and am just using the windows firewall right now but I'm read ZoneAlarm is great, should i turn off the Windows firewall and get ZoneAlarm??
Avast and antivir are both good. Avast has automatic updates so I'd prefer it. For spyware, I recommend ewido -> http://www.ewido.net/en/download You can still keep ad-aware and spybot. ZoneAlarm is way better than windows "firewall" so turn it off and get eg. ZoneAlarm.
Try Spywareblaster along with the rest you have. SWB prevents spyware from getting on your computer in the first place. Also, update it about once a week.

ya i read your thread rav, i just want more people's opinions. does Ewido remove spyware/adware or does it Prevent it like Spyware blaster? So you people do say to get ZoneAlarm and run that instead of windows firewall?
yeh run ZA's firewall instead of windows firewall. It removes it and damm well too..it wont prvent it, thats where spyware blaster comes in
to prevent, i see spyware blaster and Windows Anti-Spam, has anyone tried the Windows one? because i'm thinking it wouldnt be bad considering it IS by Windows
