Might be wiser to buy from SKYWONDER or other reputable supplier Remotes on e-bay may be used ones & could be faulty
dont drop remotes, they may be brittle,i always carried a spare for emergency, with kv channels do come and go were they the last batch added, testing is possible, also to make sure your home setup is ok like signal quality and levels and no faulty cheap splitters. once testing is passed they usually come back on. hello eamo
Hw're you Cacti. You are more at hme on DK (your comfort zone). You're in open waters on here & could be shot down. As said earlier by a learned member testing is fine during off-peak hours
Thanks... Can you be a little more specific regarding the S/W update, What do I have connected ( Laptop? Router ?) I appreciate your help.
Connect your box to the modem direct and then do menu installation S/W update and let it finish updating to the box after that factory default the box and do a new scan
people have lives to lead as well just like me and you so the testing would be done when is practical to them and not to the end user Plus im sure they look at the feedback as well from end users which they would not get at the hours you are saying for them to test
ok updated my neighbours box, it shows the fw as 24/4/2011, did factory reset, then scanned, it shows all the channels it is finding, but when try channels all i get is message, scrambled channel or no video, and yes have correct region in. also i have seen to switch box and modem of for 30 secs when do i do this, after scan has completed?
Hi have you tried resetting the homeplugs? I had that problem and the channels came thru after I switched off/on the plugs.
Have read posts claiming IP-address problems after updating box Take a look in network settings in menu. Update may have altered settings. Otherwise make sure LAN-cable is connected, then power off router & box for 5 mins. Reboot router, then box. E45 or Cactikid will sort you out if you can't sort it yourself
yea checked all settings only altered one was time, think prob is when i turn off box and modem, dont think im giving it enough time. thanks for replies will get back and see if sorted it.
Do you get the FTA channels make sure your ethernet cable is secure in the box and the router you are using a router and not just the modem if so how do you manage to get on line at the same time ??
their set up is in same room as tv. the modem and router are supplied by virmin, i did the update as told via direct ethernet, did scan both direct and via router to see if either or nor was working,i turned off equipment for 2 mins then turned back on and same message. scrambled or no video. all the programms are listed when doing the scan. the signal is 80-88 while scanning. i had this prob in the old digivox days (obv not with modem connection) but cannot remember how i fixed it.and yes e45 it does show fta channels
When you updated the firmware did you do a factory default on your box menu installation factory default and then do a new scan from an empty box, dont matter if you have the net connected to the box or not when scanning. Can you get the weather reports up or any of the traffic reports if not then its down to your net connection. What is the signal and quality % wise when on a channel ?? Also are you using a cable direct from the wall to the box or via your subbed box ?? what about splitters on your cable feed ?
for first part yes did a factory default. for weather reports and traffic reports, sorry didnt try, signal i didnt really look as the scrambled or no video message was on screen., only when scanning, 80-88. the cable goes from wall to a splitter then to virmin modem and STB. the ethernet goes from modem to router, and another ethernet from router to STB. and you have given me an idea e45, i have the coax cable still from when i had a digivox, could i use that to connect 1 cable direct to virmin modem and other cable direct to STB as the virmin wall box usually have a splitter already.
yes m8 do that its defo a cable or a net problem i would first check weather and traffic reports first step to make sure you are getting net after that direct feed to box not split
