Hi Guys,
I m actually using an Mx android box in Canada, since the beginning the box is like unstable . Turning off or freezing couple of time per day is that normal?. My the second issue is, i have many addons, who when i try to use them got an error message like : script failed addon... Is that an issue coming from the main addon or is that coming from the box, cause it seems like a lot of peoples can have access to live tv , sport but for myself the access is pretty limited. If somebody can give me a hand it will be cool . thanks for your forums

@ Koko : It might be best to factory reset the box and follow piopats guide from page 1 , if the box keeps freezing you could try new firmware

 

Thanks for the fast answer, i was thinking about before but never found kind of guide to do it. I will follow piopats, and i just found out that evdrybody is talking about kodi, but my box still working on xbmc fredo 12.0 is that the main problem of all my issue? an update ?

 

i would say yes, factory reset box, and install latest version of kodi

Hi all.
I'm totally new to android tv boxes and am also not very techy either. I just bought a Tonbux MXQ box with kodi installed.

I've read all of piopat's beginners guide and to be honest I'm still completely lost. It is a great newbie guide but I get confused rather easily lol.

Can someone tell me the difference between a repo and an addon? Do you need repos before installing addons?

Also, can someone direct me to repos and addons that are good to use to get started. I'm looking for TV and sport repos/addons mainly. Not too bothered about movies at the moment, just want to get started.

a repo will have addons, its all here. loving the zeus add on at the minute for tv its only a few posts up

haven't find the reset or backup inside the mx box, is the only solution for reset to use the hard reset by using a pine inside the av slot?.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't set the box up yet as I've been really busy. Just been trying to suss things out before I start.

I will try Zeus and see what happens. If I can manage to get it to work I'll be well pleased.

Are there any other recommended repos/addons I can install which are best for sport(football) and TV?

VDUBT25 IS ANOTHER , IF YOUR BOX. CAME PRELOADED YOU CAN CHECK IF YOU HAVE XUNITYTALK / XFINITY.
VDUBT25 IS ALREADY INSIDE THAT ,GO TO VIDEO , VIDEOADDONS , GETMORE , SHOULD FIND IT THEIR AND ENABLE IT FROM THERE .

Just out of curiosity, is anyone using Sky as their broadband provider? One preloaded addon/repo is Pheonix. If I go to the sports section and scroll through the channels, all the sports channels are there but many of them ain't working. Could this be to do with Sky?

There are other addons/repos on there such as IPTV stalker and 1channel, but when you open them there is nothing there to click on.

Also, is there a way of uninstalling addons/repos? There are some on there I know I'm never going to use.

Am I right in saying that a repo is a collection of addons? From what I'm understanding is you can either install a number of repos or singular addons. Although I'm probably talking nonsense.

In some respects I bet it's easy to buy a box with nothing installed and then installing stuff yourself.
