A NEWBIES GUIDE TO MX ANDROID

Guys small world I take it you guys are from same erea,
Hisss any luck with sportsdevil , you say you have problems with genesis what version of kodi are you using and is your internet ok as in speed , a mate had a problem with much the same thing , but he had an old version installed , went and updated to 14.1 helix and sorted the issue out ?

agree with paulie, i would start again, delete kodi off and do a fresh install http://kodi.tv/download/ latest kodi found there and just follow pios tutorial from page 1 and you cant go wrong bud

 

Oh I don't fancy uninstalling kodi then reinstalling it again.

The version is 14.1 rc1.

I need to buy a USB stick so I can install sports devil. Yes Genesis is the only add-on that's a bit temperamental.

 

Hisss the 14.1 I can understand , but the rc1. Bit is a bit strange to me , when u start up kodi if you watch the screen the version you have flashes up for a few seconds on the screen , I prefer to use USB when installing files if u want to try another way to install sportsdevil while your waiting to get your USB you can download directly to your box , I have done it this way as well and it works , GO to Google in your apps and search sportsdevil you will find the link and file ,down load the file , you will see a small download arrow. Up in the corner of your screen flashing letting you know it's downloading once done,. OPEN kodi , CLICK on system, CLICK on add-ons , INSTALL from zip file , look for external storage folder OPEN it , you should now see sportsdevil file , CLICK on the file , wait for enabled , GO back to video, video add-ons, should now sportsdevil CLICK and install ,

The only thing that shows on my screen is the word Kodi. To find what version I have I had to find a tutorial.

Just wondering.. now and again the programme I'm watching buffers quite a bit. Is that to be expected?

 

Hisss see can u check this in Kodi go to system HIGHLIGHT do not open ,should see a tag under system , system info CLICK on that a box should open up with a lot of system info , highlighted in blue near the bottom of the page you should see some info regarding version for e.g. mine says kodi 14.2 git 2015 check yours , also went in to kodi and a lot of older versions are not been updated anymore ,,,,

Hi guys. MX box has lost internet connection. I have tried both wifi and wired connection. The router is working fine as was the android box until two days ago. The box is well over a year old. Any ideas for a fix or is it time for a new box?

gudjun if you go to page 5 here , go half way down the page you will see were i had a similar issue with mxbox and piopat give excellent help on solving the problem , should sort it out for you , let us know how you get on

Paulie57. Thanks for your speedy reply.
It's not even connecting with ethernet cable, also I can see the list of available networks. I'm not very techy but that fix looks like it's just to restore wifi connection, unless I've misunderstood it.
I don't always turn it to standby so I wonder if it's overheated and cooked something inside.
Could you see the available wifi networks when you had your connection problems?

gudjun when i would go in to settings . i could see available networks including my own , but i kept getting a refresh message and could not go beyond that point so i had to follow piopats tut and download esfile manager on to usb and installed the file in to the box l from there i was able follow his instructions and delete the file he was explaining restarted the box and was able to reconnect to my wifi settins , but as you say you are not even getting ethernet connection , can you get apps when u start up your box ?

 

gudjun to explain a little more i could not get wifi or ethernet connection , but as piopat explained the mxbox can get stuck for some reason , but once i was able to install the esfile app via usb in to the box i could then follow his tut and get it up and running , i hope this helps , its worth a bash good luck

paulie57. Thanks for your help. Where/how would I find the esfile app if it was already installed? If it's not installed, I will do as you suggest and install using usb

Well watched a few YouTube tutorials and tried to fathom why genesis and pheonix doesn't work. Watched ones regarding script errors, buffering issues. Tried all the advice and to little or no avail.

 

gudjun some of the new mxboxes it comes installed as an app , if you dont have it google esfile manager and it will give you the file to download to usb , if you check page five i not sure does piopat give a link if not you can google it and download no problem , let us know how you get on

hisss i had the same issue with first box i got ,could not get any thing to run , i could get the odd film to run in genesis but only in sd nothing would work in hd and i was still getting buffering problems at that , i had to upgrade to newer version as i had 13.0 gotham which was to old , once i upgraded to 14.2 helix got it to run a lot smoother and less problems , to upgrade go to kodi downloads go down the page to 14.2 helix and you will see the arm for andriod to download , the guys in the forum piopat/tongs helped me a lot , so any help you need just post , by the way did u say say u have sky broadband , if so then i dont think its a speed issue as i take it sky is meant to be pretty quick ?

you need to upgrade kodi my friend, no other way about it,

 

you dont need fast broadband, just a decent box, decent bb, and some knowledge

 

Ya. Tongs I agree the problem seems to be pointing to the version hisss has, I had much the same problem once I upgraded , sorted out a lot of the script errors and buffering problems in genesis for e.g.

Thanks guys. Is it easy to update? Do I download it to a USB stick first and uninstall the version that is on there?

The version on there is coming up as kodi 14.2 RC1. Haven't a clue what that means.

I'm a bit nervous doing it.

Got decent box it's a Tonbux MXQ, you can search for it on Amazon.

 

Hisss I was saying in earlier post , I could not figure out the rci bit , did a bit checking out in kodi threads and a lot guys purchased boxes with this version and having the same problems , even though it's a new version it's very unstable and guys are going back to 14.2 helix so your box is not the problem, you can download to your box. , a few posts up tongs gives the download site ,if you want you can google kodi downloads from your apps and scroll down the page to 14.2 helix android arm and download from there. you can also back up the kodi version you have now to usb if your unsure , also read the first pages of piopats TUT and you see where he helped me the first time I tried it, let us know how it goes , the guys in this forum are excellent with help and advice
