A NEWBIES GUIDE TO MX ANDROID

Last week i had installed Mobro but the last couple of days most of the channels are not opening - does this happen sometimes?
Could it have installed badly?
I think i'll unistall it and try to reinstall.

Piopat is bang on about these 'fully loaded' boxes, that's what I bought cos my mate had one and I knew nothing about em. After all the headaches helpleas mentioned previously I decided to wipe mine clean and start again. Honestly if I can get to grips with it I'm sure most folk can...I'm a 'throw it in the bin' person if something isn't working properly. Once you install fusion repo you'll find pretty much all you need in that. I could wipe my box clean now and be back up n running in half hour (with bog standard remote with no keyboard for inputting urls) just by what I've learned from these folk on here and a bit of googling...seo-michael is your friend in Google. For UFC you just need a decent BT sport stream, RoboCop has been working best for me, watching McGregor get silenced the other weekend was worth the box cost alone!!!

Out of interest, are we all using 'boxes' or is anyone using kodi through a smart TV? Been thinking of upgrading my TV to a smart one and curious how things like kodi work on one.

 

About the wired/WiFi thing...I'm on 20mb virgin and my box is on WiFi, my box and TV is at the other side of the front room from my modem about 5 metres away. JUST done a test with speedtest.net and my result is

Down 20.72
Up 1.25
That's pretty good for a 20mb wireless connection, in fact it's damn good I reckon. Either that or speedtest.net is just 'painted on' numbers! What's other people getting?

 

Upar I have a smart tv but the apps are basic , not to sure about kodi on smart tvs I do have a vu dou2 box for tv for fta and other channels wink wink , it also has an andriod side built in for plugins , it has vix image software which came preinstalled with the box which has a slim down version of kodi called kodidirect But can be a little troublesome , It also has a free iptv plugin installed which gives me vumoo , yiffy , for top quality movies , and a lot of international /foreign channels , and box sets , so it gives me options , as for as for Internet speed have upc broadband. and
Excellent speed ..........

 

Hi not sure where to post this . got a mxq box "fully loaded" ! It had kodi13.2running . was just scrolling through different apps not even running kodi then box would just freeze screen goes wobbly and loads of feedback through speakers. I have to power off the box to get it working again . any ideas how to sort this pls ?

Complete Newbie here, just purchased a mbox, i have plugged it in and connected to wi-fi , i don't seem to be able to connect to any of the channels. I thought the box would fully update itself when connected to wi-fi ? am i missing something as all i get is URL 's are incorrect and check logs ?

Another thing i would like to ask as i could not see it in the forum's is how i can manage the box remotely via windows laptop and web browser ? as i can connect to http://ipaddress:8080 , but can't get any further ?

My advice on the fully loaded boxes would be as above...wipe it clean and start again. The box ( or kodi that is on the box and the main reason I bought one) is using outdated URLs. These boxes from China could have been programmed with URLs months even years ago so the URL is probably now defunct. Personally I uninstalled kodi off my box and then just reinstalled it from play store and then added the relevant repos from which you get your relevant addons that (should) work. You could just go through your kodi and update/edit your URLs but that seems like a ballache to me, I'd say wipe it clean and start again, you'll understand it better as you go along.
Remember your 'box' is not what plays films and sports etc...kodi is, it could be on your tab or your phone. Kodi is just an app from play store. Kodi seems to run better on my Samsung tab than on my mxq box, but the 'box' is handy for watching films on a 'big' screen.

As for running your box remotely with windows or whatever... Haven't a clue about that, piopat, Paulie or tongs may know more to help you.

If you've been using android for the last few years, all these boxes do is turn your TV into your tab or phone screen and the box is the processor. Mines on android 4.4.2 which is just the old KitKat software. If you can work your way around a android phone or tab then the box ain't much difference.

 

Paulie...is that yiffy that you mention for top quality films available for kodi? I tried a yiffyHD add-on before for films but didn't work, is the one you mention different?

 

Upar ya yiffy version on dou2 box is a little bit different , its part of a free plugin iptv version that comes with the vix image software preinstalled , have yiffyhd on mxbox and yes a bit hit and miss so I stick with 123movies, exedus and velocity for movies on the mx box ,
Zayn more than likely your box came preloaded with a lot apps and kodi addons that don't work , read back the last dozen pages here and will get tips get get your box up and running , I can connect my pc via hdmi to tv for films from p c kodi version , and the daughter connects here ipad via chromecast dongle

 

Thanks for the info guy's i spend an hour yesterday trying to get live mix working as i thought it was a good app but got nothing. I guess a complete wipe is required. Just unsure how to wade in as there are 36 pages on here with different opinions..

 

Zayn...do you have an android tab? If so...download kodi app from playstore. Go into kodi and it will be empty (no addons). Then go to SYSTEM- FILE MANAGER-ADD SOURCE....type in URL for fusion repo that was linked earlier on these pages, after you've entered proper URL, in box underneath give it a name, I called it fusion...you can call it sally if you want! Go back a page, INSTALL FROM ZIP FILE, select fusion or sally or whatever you called it...then XBMCREPOS-ENGLISH, then you will have a big list...these are repos, you will see blazetamer, lambda,metalkettle among many others. To start with select metalkettle and install it. You now have metalkettle repository installed. Now go back a page and INSTALL FROM REPOSITORY, select metalkettle, go to VIDEO ADDONS, and select one/any or all...upto you, the selected add-on will now be in VIDEO-ADDONS, thats about it.

Fusion is a zip file containing repos...
Metalkettle, blazetamer, lambda etc are repos that contain addons...
123movies,livemix,exodus etc are addons.

I'm at work now but I think that's it...if I've said owt wrong the others will correct me later but I reckon that just about covers it, you're tab will now be doing everything you want your box to do. If you ain't got a tab, same applies to a blank kodi app on your box!!!

 

Zayn What upar has posted is correct , what version of kodi do you have now ? if it's helix or older , probly need to update to new version 16.0 jarvis from playstore or kodi downloads , once downloaded can then delete old ver sion before installing new
One , but first need some more info kodi version you have now and firmware , boxes can be a bit daunting at first , you will get as much help as you need from the guys here in the forum ........

I have 15.4 kodi, i believe something seriously wrong with box. I tried using ethernet as wifi just kept failing. Now when i connect the ethernet and open the play store and add my google account i get the message below

Can't sign in

Can't establish reliable connection to server. Your android device may not be provisioned for data services. If continues call customer care

I know the ethernet is fine as i plug a laptop in it works. Is it a faulty box ??



Tried to download kodi 16 from playstore getting "update for kodi could not be downloaded due to an error 920

 

Please please can someonw help me. My MX Pro box arrived today. I plugged in tge power cable and attached the HDMI cable that I regularly use. It is on thecorrect television channel. I get a green light but no picture, sound or setup page. I have a second box and that is the same. I can't imagine both boxes have the same fault. So what am i doing wrong?
Someone suggested plugging in the usb that is in the back of the keyboard. I have done this, no change, unplugged the power cable and reattached but still no change.
I've pressed buttons on the remote but the only one which seems to do anything is the on off button which works turning the light on the box from green to red and back.
I'm usually good with tech but I'm tearing my hair out. Please help restore sanity xxx

 

Zayn kodi version 15 isengard is working OK , problem seems a little deeper it could be firmware issue , as you say its not internet issue , could try wiping clean and install new firmware , but if box is new best advice would be
to retunn box if you can contact seller ......

 

Blusoop have you set up Internet link to box , via wifi or hardwire ?

 

Blusoop as you say both boxes have the same issue , it sounds like hdmi cable or wrong source on tv , if you can try another hdmi cable first ,

 

blusoop do you have a PlayStation or something that you use HDMI with?switch it on as normal then pull the HDMI wire out of the PlayStation and plug it in your box that's also switched on, if nothing happens on the tv I'd say it must be the box at fault.
