    sorry to bother u all again i just bought my mates com and he has xp installed i was wondering could i put my 40 gb drive in his com so i have two hdd but the prob is on my hdd im using win 98se do they both have to be same os or do i have to have no ois on my hdd or will it be fine with two hdd with two difrent os cheers

    can have more than 1 hd in system. because you already have xp installed, you might have to kiss win98se goodbye

    does that mean the second hd has no os on it or do i have to put xp on it too

    xp is on the c:drive which is your boot drive so don't put it also on the d:drive

    so what your saying is leave drive d blank with no os is that correct

    yes as 2nd hd be used as storage space
