Why? You said you wanted a machine for gaming, you ask people what to get, everyone says AMD. You say pentium!

Do you know something that we don't?

    Just curious, that's all!

    An extremely puzzled Pulsar

This was a setup from the beginning. DRM = evil. I dont care if the chip was tons better than AMD. The DRM makes it suck all the way. You will find out the hard way.

    Well for me.

It doesnt matter what the machine is really it really depends on the person using it and their ability to use the machine

soo good luck with ur choice

    and again y again Pentuim??

    what made u decide??

So let me get this right, you would recommend a chip on the basis of someones ability to interface with said PC?

    Is this a joke?

no joke it depends on wat the person wants to do with the machine first.

second its up to the person too keep it maintained. the pc cant maintain it self

soo it really depends again on the person and what they want to doo AMD yes i agree is a greater chip but at the end of the day if u put the best pc infront of a person that doesnt know how to use it then the pc will never reach its full potential,

if u get what i mean now..

    does that make it clear...

Not really! Since when did a pentium PC maintain itself?

I understand what you are saying about a PCs potential being underexploited. But how would that influence the chip that you buy?
The chap asked for a gaming chip, AMDs are the way to go. He still ignored all our advice & is buying a pentium. I just do not get it. Why ask a question if you have already made up your mind?
The whole thread & everyones' time has been completely wasted.

This is one of the reasons I do not come here as much.

Why should I give up my time for this?

Another thread like this! Well...I'll have to say AMD because there is performance for what you pay. Intel is turning out like Microsost, dominating the market, and inflating prices. "What you get is what you pay for," that turns out incorrect for Intel, you overpay and get [bold]NOTHING.[/bold]

all i can add is this is the first AMD box i've had, and i love it. The only thing i dislike about mine (2700 Athlon) is if the CPU fan fails, instant fire. I will never leave my PC on unattended for long, don't trust fans. Other than that it's the best thing i ever bought

the only reason i worry about it is cus of being afloat, i wouldn't be best pleased if i woke up floating next to a load of bulkpaq disks and my beloved possessions had all sunk :O

Just got a nice little prog called XP smoker. Very nice little utility. I like my PC lean & keen when it comes to running processes & dll files etc!
