interesting thread..... just wanted to say ANYDVD RULES!!! lol... and no... i didnt come to piss anyone off... but really... when something is good... especially in the software world... people brag... they really appreciate a good product... i was reluctant to buy it as well... im an *el cheapo* too... i support a family of five i cant afford not to be... but just the time saved and the energy spent makes anydvd the greatest program ive ever purchased... ever heared the saying "cant beat em, join em" i have a feeling youll be joining them before its all said and done.... and as far as wasted thread space... isnt a thread about wasted thread space a waste of thread space? lol..
and that post was aimed @ the first part of the thread... i hadnt made it through the entire thread before the compulsion to speak... and as for the last half... i havent seen those guides either but i have heared alot of people leading me to believe its easy.. hmm.. your guess is as good as mine
hmm, I like AnyDVD personally because it has saved me a few times in the past so people praising it on the forums is good really. However, what I dont like that happens often is people get flamed for trying to show users alternatives. By alternative i mean mostly freeware software to help battle encryption etc. This is not an AnyDVD forum so even if you recommend AnyDVD to Joe Average, do not flame a user who posts after you with a harder yet freeware-only solution. AnyDVD is good for quite a lot of users however because it is simple, but if they don't want to spend money then they don't want to spend money. Oh and, there are now no instructions and wont ever be any instructions from official afterdawn staff as to breaking copy protection, even for a personal backup, due to Finnish copyright laws. So don't take my post above as encouragement from a staff member, take it as a light warning towards users who like to flame a little bit too much.
ok i bought anydvd and when to rip a movie to see id it worked. when i put the movie in and went to slecte it my comp frezzes up till i eject the cd... any help here plz
sigepman this is the name of the board, as this is not a help thread Safety valve Feel like letting off some steam? Just want to tell everyone how much the world sucks today? Or how wonderful it is? Go ahead! what ye want is a help board called DVD±R for newbies This forum is meant for beginners who wish to backup their DVD movies into writable DVD discs, including DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW and DVD+R. Please, if you consider your question to be a trivial, basic question related to DVD-R, post it here! click here and post ye problem http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/44 cheers
I have to say when I started reading this thread I agreed with the frustration the originator felt at all the AnyDVD shouting. However this thread opened my eyes to the frustration felt by the AnyDVD posters, and that the reason you shout about AnyDVD is to make your work easier, not necessaraly sell a product...Which is something I admit I was suspicious about at A.D.
People who knock SlySoft are usually ones who have been here less than 2 seconds, they come along with an attitude, then wonder why people get p*ssed off with them. Lots of us have been here for a long time & recommmend AnyDvd because it is a very good prog, not because we are reps for SlySoft. We recommend it because it is very good. There are lots of other free progs that can do an excellent job, but 99.99% of people who buy AnyDvd never look back. I get really pissed off when long time members get slagged off by newcomers, they either p*ss off & don't come back or they relent & accept the error of their ways. We are all here for a reason, to back up our dvds, sometimes we can get sidelined & get involved in pathetic arguements with complete d*cks, very rarely do the newcomers win, they can end up banned, after hurling insults, typing in caps etc! Long timers are here for a reason, we have an inkling of what we are talking about & rarely talk of things we know little about. That is because people who spout bull get found out very quickly & rarely last! Lots of long timers have left, usually due to the invasion of kn*bheads & their wildly stupid opinions. The first 2 posters in this thread make my point quite eloquently, they have not returned since. Marvellous! End of rant!
AnyDVD is easy and sometimes the simplest solution is the best. I tried out the new proggy RipIt4Me and it works a treat. Even did a guide, but it can take a little to get used to it and sometimes noobs are just not understanding and that makes them frustrated. AnyDVD is just click and go. I will recommend free and the pay it is up to poster/user what they want to do. I don't make decision for them.
I have just came across this thread, and I am one that nearly always recommends anydvd, why, because it is a great program that works. But I also recommend the free options that are just as good like DVDFab Decrypter. I only recommend programs that I have used and tested for myself. If people dont like the answer I give then tough!!! 90% of the time if a newbie was to use the search function they would find an answer for there problem. If anyone should be moaning it should be the members that have been here for a long time that have to keep answering the same questions over and over again. We are all here for one reason, to help and to learn from others.
A coworker gave me 2 dvds that he couldn't get to play in his players-region code 2. These dvds were bought by his brother while he was on a trip there. I enabled anydvd, ripped them with dvd shrink-region free, and booktyped them to dvd-rom.No need to switch my drive to region 2,and then back to region 1. Great program. Not only ripping encryption, but setting a drive to be region free!
@pazzini, I agree! I assume newbies feel totally overwhelmed by their seemingly insurmountable problem so they just ask away. Think of all the newbies that do use that search function and don't ask a question....AD gets quite a few visitors so these are probably a bunch of folks we never see.
Anydvd by Slysoft has probably been THE best investment in software i have EVER made, i just recently made a $30 donation for DVD-Rebuilder Pro and am still getting used to the settings and stuff, so i'm a "newbie" with DVDRB thus far... as pazzini stated, i recommend it too because IT WORKS and WORKS WELL; i only recommend ANYTHING to ANYONE here that i have PERSONALLY used and tested MYSELF; none of this "my buddy said this and this newbie said that"...i can't stand people with NO ACTUAL EXPERIENCE in a product bashing something even before they have actually tried it for themselves, this holds true for PC hardware too; you gonna bash something that you've only "read about" on the web in reviews and purport that WHAT YOU HAVE is "better" than the product in question? gimme a break...without actual EXPERIENCE between 2 products that are being reviewed, you have NO factual evidence to "claim" one is superior to the other (i'm not even talking about fanboyism here, in which a person PREFERS one company to another), crap you read on the web is definitely BIASED (tuned toward whichever company is marketing said product)...OPINIONS that are geared with this mentality, mind you, it's only an OPINION from whoever supports the product and should be treated as such...just an OPINION...everyone has a right to their OPINION, but you would be arrogant to argue FACT ok, i side-tracked a bit there, quite a bit of nonsense i've read lately throughout the forums here, but back to AnyDvd, it's a great product THAT HAS WORKED VERY WELL FOR ME PERSONALLY, i highly recommend it as a solution IF the person is willing to pay for it, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the "free route", i use many of the FREE solutions as well, but a simple PROVEN product that works well deserves MY money and i recommend it; the authors and contributors of Anydvd in MY eyes deserve getting paid for a terrific product... nobody is twisting ANYONE's arm to buy it, it's all based on the user and how he/she wants to go about it... docTY
@pulsar PEACE, I Bow to Bender!!! If you ever make-it across the pond and out to Cali, I'll buy ye'a pint, and a serving wench!!! Regarding Seach Engine, I use it every time I have a problem, but rarily find the thread with the answer I need from it directly, I have to then cruise through forums, and usually find the answer through cruising. Example I predominately use 1clickDVD (Yes I try diffrent spelling configs) if I do a search under that I only get 2 threads listing it, even though there must be hundreds. I find it while cruising all over, but not through search engine. I think this may be one reason why people end-up posting under what is technically the wrong forums. @Ireland Congrats on 15,000 and all your help in the past and hopefully the future (DONT LEAVE!!!)
@ Lp531, I like the idea of a wench! LOL!! Peace dude.... @ Ireland, if you leave, I will jump off the local viaduct!
@pulsar, Ye' wench is Served. It's under my pictures, it's the 1 with comment, for some reason thumbnails aren't showing, maybe to big. I saw the Formula-1 video you linked, Lots of greats lost! It really puts a lump in your throat! Heres link for those: watch at your own risk,WONDERFUL!!!BUT SAD!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORs-8GT6SMU
