That is very true. Some even settle for 3rd or 4th best. Now i know the saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that is true but it does not apply entirely in this situtation. If one of those remaining 190 people could have the personality of the mate that they choose and the body to boot of one of those women in the top ten then they would choose the body of a women in the top ten women and the personality that could be their soul mate it if they could. Most people cant have their cake and eat it too but if anyone were given the opportunity to have both they would probably not leave either one on the plate.

Let's say Steak is your favorite food. All of a sudden someone offers you steak every morning, noon and night. How long before you hunger for that Micky D's Hamburger? Why does a man cheat on his wife with someone that is less attractive then her? Why does a women cheat on her husband with someone that is less attractive then him? Change of pace or that little bit of spark for the unknown territory? Let’s just say that I have been around the block, left home when I was 18 and married for the first time when I became 48. Several years in between to play the field, like that one movie with Burt Reynolds, “The Man Who Loved Women.” Not to diss them or use them, just because I loved beautiful women. I’m no prize today at 54, got that middle aged belly ya know, but I can say that I could have been called one of the lucky ones on God’s list. I truly believe that most out there today just don’t appreciate how good they have it with their mates. I found my soul mate for life, my wife of 6 years, but only after I finally realized that enough was enough. If looks were everything then what happens to the man that loses his legs, gets into an accident and gets disfigured? Should his wife or girlfriend say, See Ya? There will always be somebody better looking, somebody with a better personality, or somebody with more money. When what’s inside matters more then those other things, then you find true beauty. P.S. I had one hell of a ride looking though!!!!! <G>
Good post, ScubaBud. I got married when I was 20 and my wife 18. We have been married for 35-1/2 years. I have never had any regrets. Is she a 10? In my eyes, she is. Not in appearance, but what is inside. You young folks have fun. Sow your wild oats. There is nothing wrong with that. You may get as lucky as I did, and find the right one to spend your life with. Oh, BTW, marriage isn't easy. You have to work at it, if you want it to last.
hehehehe, does that mean you [bold]might[/bold] get married to someone who you dont want to be with?? matching partners is a very difficult process indeed,you may think you have found the perfect partner,......but have you??,the average guy probably dates around 10 women in his life,some lots more,some none at all, but the average is about 10 i'd say,(just guessing)...now then...> if the average guy,who through his life is going to date 10 girls,has all of these girls lined up in front of him,whom he has never met before.but knows he is going to marry one of these girls,of which one he doesnt know yet [bold]doesnt seem much of a choice does it?[/bold],i mean,there are 1000's out there [bold]i'd bet my ass that the average joe bloggs settles for second best[/bold],and that the average guy,who thinks he has the perfect match,is actually only with a so-so match,but settles for it,cause its less aggro,and he is sort of happy,"everyone has there faults right?". finding the perfect match is almost impossible as you get older,these points become less valid,and the reality of finding the perfect match soons kicks in that its near on impossible [bold]and after all,you can always put a bag on its head,and oh yeah,one on yours,in case hers falls off[/bold]
not sure what you mean? if you meant,like a dual layer bag,in case she rips through the first layer,then i suppose,it would have to be dual layer,or maybe even an old potatoe sack,..now there quite tough,no chance of it rearing its ugly head through one of those babies.....hehe anyone would think,the way i talk,my other half is a right old leg dragger,but you'd all be wrong,...infact,shes quite a stunner.hehehe maybe i'm one of the lucky ones.

I have not been married as long as GrandpaBW but i know that you can find a match who is close to being perfect as possible but you will still have diff and disagreements down the line. You just have to learn to change some of the things if you love your mate and in some cases not be too picky and know when to learn to comprimise in other situations.

Life is strange, I've always liked goth/rock-spirited women with dark hair and black clothing but look what happened, I met a nice and sophisticated blonde who made me fall on my knees. At the very moment I realized that dreams are dreams, you can have them but they are just pale reflection of things that really make people such unique and likeable, she was so gorgeus that all of my previous "standards" just waived away - there's much more important things than them and those reasons lie deep inside person. She's almost exact opposite for every detail I imagined my dream girl would have but she's still the one I love: We've been together about 6 years now and we got married couple of months ago, not long time yet but it's a good beginning. What comes to "standards" for being attractive or unattractive I think that the whole world is very twisted nowadays: It seems that most of us are seeking perfect woman or man, most important values are those which are considering how good people looks. I've always notified small things like nice smile, curious blink at the corner of the eye, beautiful eyes, catching laugh and such: They have much stronger effect than big boobs or round butt, those aren't negative things but who can really say that it's wise to base decisions that lasts whole lifetime just on them? I see beautiful girls often and everywhere, and even if someone could say they are just regular ones I think that they are even more good looking than ones at the miss competitions: They don't feel like real anymore. This is again one of those subjects that gives my language skills a hard time, try to understand what I tried to say.
