    If you have overburn enabled, which it appears you do for CDs, that could cause burner damage. Some burners cannot handle this. Have you tried to burn more than 700MB to a CD-R or more than 80 minutes of audio? Could be the burner.

    I do not have over burn enabled. I have never burnrf more than I'm supposed to.

    So I took my burner back to the store and they tested it and it is defininately bad!! Its under manufacters warranty and they said it will most likely be replaced by the newer model.

    Thanks for all the help -- I really appreciate it.

    What is the best media for dvd-r's. I currently like Ridata. Are they good?

    I heard Taiyo-Yuden is the best quality?

    Ridatas are OK, but lately Ritek's quality (they manufacture Ridata) has been questionable. Yes, TY is the best, but there are some fakes out there so beware of them. If you go through a reputable site (supermediastore.com, rima.com, meritline.com, newegg.com if you live in the US) you shouldn't have any problems with authenticity.
