What does the quality of your movies look like in AVIcodec or what should it look like?

For those who used winavi and then burned with nero and had problems, what nero did you use?

I read somewhere that the older versions of nero has compatability issues with creating and burning dvd's.

I'm trying the winavi and nero express 2 maneuvre, I will let everyone know if it works, if it does not work. Well I'm sure we can then scrap it in the options list.

I use Nero Vision Express 2.1.29, and it doesn't encode properly unless I convert first to MPEG.

I now use TMPGEnc DVD Author. I still need to re-encode into mpeg first, but from there it encodes properly to DVD. It then allows me to burn directly to DVD without using Nero and hence without Nero's screwing around with the files.

If you want my advise, don't use Nero (any nero) to encode.
Use WinAVI, TMPGenc, AVI2DVD or Film Machine. See which one works best for the video you want to encode and then burn with NERO.

If Nero gives problems, use a later version of nero.

    hi

i have just tested 2 mpegs taken out of SVCD bin files with a header changer called DVD Patcher it will make the mpeg to mpeg2, this means yes! no encoding or loosing quilty anymore and no need to wait 2 hours! just drop them straight in TMPGenc DVD Author to author them to vobs!

if useing this only change first header in each mpeg!

quality is the same as SVCD in vobs/dvd format = very nice no loss!

i only use nero to burn, not encode anything!
