I haven't tried that yet so I can't say. I would be inclined to believe that it won't work but neither would I be surprise if it did since this is a long time request for DVD RB and BD RB. The reason your system shut down is probably due to overheating.

The system will sometimes encode 3-4 movies with no problems and sometimes it will shut off after 5 minutes. All parts are brand new. Sometimes I have to turn my power button on 4-5 times before it will stay running. I have built 50-60 computers and have never come across this until now. Weird!!

    Hi binmax.

I've had my share of Computers through the ages, and only once did experience a similar episode of random shutdowns and the power button not always working, and it all was due to a faulty power supply unit. Good Hunting.

This program drives me crazy now. It is so unstable and unpredictable. It always ends up with a different result though I always do the same thing. Maybe it handles movies with certain codecs better than the others.

It would do one movie and it would play ok. The other would not play at all, the third would play but with some "nervous" barely noticeable but very annoying shakes when you watch it (and this type is the worst, b.c. you kind of can watch it but then you pay attention not to the movie but this jumping of the picture).

I really wish for it would produce more consistent results for me.

So I am still trying to figure out the reasons for inconsistent BD RB results. Now I have this question: when backing up the blu-rays with AnyDVD Hd to the hard drive, does it matter if you check the boxes Remove Region Code and Disable BD+??

I don't check them. Remove region code scripts should be default.

We need to start archiving a list of movies that have either succeeded or failed so that we can correlate error types. We also need a place where that info can be displayed as a list so that users can refer to it without searching through a growing thread, and so that we can give feedback to jdobbs regarding those errors.

Have you not had any successes yet? How many movies and which ones have you tried? Maybe we can pinpoint the causes through some careful analysis.

The latest disappointment was The Wrestler. I did Movie only, BD25, kept HD audio, High quality (default). BD RB did it, no errors reported. Burnt on Bd-r and played on Panasonic Bd30. Movie plays, dos not freeze, sound is fine but the video shows some flaws (like those hardly noticeable shakes). It is mostly noticeable at the very beginning, when the movie starts and they show all those posters when the wrestler was young. They jitter.)

I don't know if this could be the player's fault. I tried to play the same file on the computer but it is not powerful enough I guess to give me reliable results, it plays the movie but if I want to ffarward it, it would freeze. So I try not the rely on the computer when making a judgment. I also play it in a small window and don't see the jitter I see on a big TV.

Oh, and I have several successes. I think Quantum of Solace turned out without any problems.

Which player is a good choice to use when trying the result on the computer?

I'd be happy to sticky it if you create such a thread.

My favorite is the LG drive but I also have a Lite-On which does ok as well. An interesting discovery that I made is the possibility that integrated audio chips could have problems with audio playback. I made a backup on one system that differed only by the drive Lite-On vs LG, and the audio cards/chps. I successfully ripped the movie Patton to both systems and mounted them as ISO's. The system with integrated audio skpped but the one with the Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Pro played like a champ. I wanted to do more testing to on my hypothesis but I rarely use integrated audio in my systems and the other three systems didn't have BD drives.

OK. Another try and another screw up by BD RB. This time the file size, which came out by about 500MB larger than BD-R. It is very frustrating now. Will I ever get it going with this prog? :) I chose BD25 and checked Keep HD audio.
My understanding is the prog rips the audio first, then takes the video only, deducts the size of audio from 25gb Bd-r size and then rebuilds video to that size so that together video and audio fit on one bd-r. THEN why, why can it not do it right? Brrrr.

KMPlayer and the Media Player Home Cinema are two of the players that works best for me.

Just a note to the original poster to update the date of the latest release of BD Rb on the first page. I always look there and see 31st of April. The link to download is the latest though)

I posted the latest version the day that it was released. I'd checked that morning before I went to work and it wasn't up yet. By the time I got home from work creaky had already posted it in a link, but it was still posted on the same day of release. I can't access forum from work because they are blocked by websense. I will however try to remember to change the date.
