hmm. thats an interesting idea. i could try and do a 1:1 extraction of the source and rebuild as a new bd structure to test and see if the issue goes away. Ill post back after i test a few things and see if i can narrow down where the issue is arising from.

    Hey Sophocles,

Can you explain the speed in which this movie finished? It is completely done, and all audio and video is in sync. No artifacts or anything. Start to finish this 28GB file took 37 minutes to finish. Same setup I have been using for all of my other movies which usually take 6 hours to finish.

Yes I can explain. The actual movie only file without the extras and a single sound track was smaller than required to make a BD-25 so it didn't have to do any reencoding. BD-RB just extracted the movie only and rebuild it to BD structure. Those are always much quicker.

I recently changed my Motherboard and CPU.My Cpu runs around 35-40 degrees celcius Idle. This is even when i backup dvd's and encode video to dvd, However when i encode a blu ray with BD-Rebuilder my CPU gradually goes up to 98-99 degrees celcius.. After awhile my computer restarts. I`m assuming that this is a safety feature on my foxconn motherboard,so it does get fried. I never had a problem with my old motherboard and CPU.I know the CPU works harder with blu ray. I have 4 fans in my case,so i dont think its a air flow issue.I mainly us a program called speccy,to check temps on my computer.Any one, have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    I currently have this motherboard:

You need an after market cooler. The ones that come with Intel processors works fine for normal use but not for heave use. I'm running two Intel quads of which both run hotter than your CPU, they're overclocked way beyond spec and they average about 60C at their very hottest and in the upper 20's at their coolest.

Don't forget to order a small tube of thermal past to go with it to insure better heatsink to spreader contact. It's sort of the same Idea as the little soft pad included on the Intel heatsink at the bottom. I prefer arctic silve 5 but any compound will help and be sure to follow the instructions.

What is the program you're playing it back with and have you tried to play the whole rip and not just the stream file?

the rip or ISO from the bd-9 plays fine just some of the bd-9 i created the video is out of sync when i play the stream on comp. im setting up like a media center on comp so im trying to play just the stream file. just wondering if theres a way to fix the video if not than i probably have to just create another bd-9 from the original. think the ffdshow setting was not set right when i did some of the movies.

I'm not certain why you would want to keep just the stream file only even for storage and streaming. The file is still too large to store and you lose most of its usable features such as chapters. Wouldn't it make more sense to compress it to a BD-5 or BD-9 dual layer of which both are much smaller than the stream file alone and of excellent quality. You could also compress it to a matroska container which will mux the audio to place it in sync but no matter how you look at it your best option is going to be anything but using the stream file alone.

I've have a problem backing up the new Sherlock Holmes movie. (Very enjoyable picture BTW) The past movies that I've had success with I've used BD-5, movie only and resize to 720p. This time I tried BD-9, movie only and 1080p. After taking over 24 hours to encode when I played it with VLC (b4 burning to disk) the video was very jerky and pixalated. The audio had no issues. Here is a copy of the log.

Funny thing was that with this encode I had no encoding errors, but this one ultimately failed whereas the other ones successed.

In what did it fail? According to your post it was a success. What did you do with it after you finished burning it?

Maybe I wasn't clear. I have not burnt it to disk yet. I played it direct from the HD with VLC. The resulting video was very jerky and pixalated. According to the log, it appeared to have be a successful encode, but that was not the case.

    CURRENT VERSION 0.33.02 (April 3rd, 2010)
    http://www.jdobbs.net/freeware/BD-RBV03302.zip

    - Added a new option "Other Movie-Only Ouput" to the
MODE menu. This allows you to create other types of
files (rather than BD). The current choices are for
iPOD and iPAD (.MP4) files) and MKV output, but I
expect to add other choices in future releases. The
output to alternate formats does not attempt to reach
target sizes, but instead uses a fixed CRF which can
be set via the "ALTCRF=n" hidden parameter. The
default value for ALTCRF is 21.
    - Added an "Automatic Quality Settings" option to the
"Encoder Settings" menu. When selected, BD-RB will
automatically make quality selections based upon the
type and size of output. This option is meant to
help avoid confusion caused by the numerous options.
The default setting is now "ON".
    - Changed default for for b-pyramid to "strict"
    - Added some control code to prevent certain options
    from creating non-compliant streams.
    - Updated the included version of X264.EXE to the
    latest release (r1510).
    - Other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes.

Hey to all... Another enthusiast entering the realm of BluRay ripping...
I am aware that BD Rebuilder can convert DTS 5.1 audio to AC3 5.1 @ either 640 or 448kbps...

I want to convert DTS down to 192kbps... Tried changing the bitrate in 'View/Edit Config File' but it still converted to 640kbps!?

Can it be done & if so, what am i doing wrong???

I tried using the app 'Super' to convert it down to the desired bitrate but it incorrectly remaps the channels & any other proposed DTS2AC3 app are mostly dodgy &/or tedious so I'd much rather stick with BD Rebuilder if I can.

    Please...Anyone.. Anyone????

    Hey Soph,

I have come across another issue that is stumping me. I just finished with 2 movies that are completely subtitled. The audio and video are perfect, but I am not getting any subtitles. When doing both of these movies I have all the subtitles turned on, but when I play the movie back through my system, there are no subtitles. I go to click on "primary subtitle" in my Cyberlink menu and the option is grayed out. I was hoping this was a Cyberlink issue, but I don't have any other player to play these with.

Thanks for any words of wisdom !!
