BD RB Beta released! - now at version 0.37.08 (April 23rd, 2011)

i was wondering if you might know why my BD-RB gui looks like this



i'm running windows 7 pro 64 bit. i have uninstalled and reinstall everything that has to do with the BD-RD.

 

You have an error somewhere in your setup. Either you need to run BD RB as administrator or you have an incorrect version of another file such as avisynth. Have you recently installed any DVD or BD copy type software? If so many of them include its own version of avisynth. Run "inspect" in your BD RB folder and post the results.

 

no i haven't install any other dvd or BD copy software. i'm also running as admin on my computer. everything is ok in inspect. also BD-RB works fine. its just the gui of it that is messed up. do you know what jdobbs uses to create the BD-RD gui? so maybe i can try to see if i have that software on my computer and to uninstall or reinstall it. i have also talked with jdobbs and he doesn't know why it looks like it does.

I wonder if looking at the BD Rebuilder.INI file might have a clue??

Just a quick thought - it seems as though the gui is 'recapturing' another point in time?? Strange...

In the event that you don't know where the INI files are, they are the text file in your BD RB folder labeled "BDREBUILDER." If you weren't able to make any settings then there won't be much in it but who knows. I would however appreciate it if you would run
Inspect" in the same folder as the INI file and paste the info it contains.

The vast majority of issues that I've ran into from others are setup, incorrect versions of software (also setup), wrong settings in FFDSHOW (again settings) lack of administrator privileges given to RB, apparently stable but unstable overclock, poorly ripped BD, and a variance in BD structure that jdobbs hadn't yet encounter hence beta testing. There are always of course other items but those just about cover it. If you help us by offering these basic diagnostics that we ask for then we just might help you resolve things but without info everything is a guess.

Sorry, a couple of posts got stacked in front of it so I missed. I don't see an issue there if that's a current image. Have right clicked on BD RB and chose it to run as administrator? If so then do as Sloverhear suggested and post your INI file. Do you have an overclocked system?

yes its overclocked.

 

If you haven't clocked it down a bit by now then you might want to consider it. Overclocking is a wonderful way to increase power but it can also insert a lot of errata in processor intense re-encodes or for that matter any processor intensive computing. Re-encoding at stock speeds will often run all cores of a processor close to 100% and generate a fair amount of heat. Over the years my experience has taught me that most people who overclock are often unaware that they're running unstable systems. This might not apply to your system but it's worth the time to find out. An unstable system will also be one to experience electromigration at an earlier in its processing life as well.

 

i should have said this earlier as well but i have set it back to stock and tried it already and no luck. the gui still looks the same as before.

on another note i test all of my overclocks with IntelBurnTest v2.50 and they have all come back with stable resluts. does this mean i am good to go? i have also been told that the true test is when that it will hold it own in everyday use. i would also think that BD-RD is a true stable test as well because it push the cpu to 100%.

 

Linpack's usually a pretty good test but nothing finalizes declaring it stable like running a graphically intensive video game at full settings and a couple of BD re-encodes.

If your operating system is stable, your BD RB setup is good, and your overclock is good then technically you have no problem. Are you choosing your source and working folder properly (note that it's usually best to have the working folder on a different drive than the source)? If you're selecting the source and nothing's showing up on BD RB then one of your setup applications are a wrong version, improperly setup, or windows or a security application is preventing them from running. There a really are no other things to look for.

 

ok thanks and yes i'm choosing your source and working folder properly. i have the source folder on one drive and the working folder on a totally different drive.

 

Which application do you use for ripping the movie? Have you tried with different movies? Which security software do you have running?

 

i use anydvdhd ( the latest one) to rip them and yes i have tried different movies. i have no problem with the movies that i do with BD-RD. i run Norton Security Suite.

This happens to me with windows 7 x 64 or windows xp need help. I also happens with some movies.
