as far as sk8ing shoes go, I swear by my Chet Tech 3's(Globes). As for bearings & trucks, I use Independent trucks with China Bones bearings(They're a ceramic bearing aparently). Otherwise I stick with Element.
I liked the Vallely brand boards that Element made, had some f*cking good concave for ramps and pools those things, and they had lots of "pop". As for skating accidents, i've broken both my collarbones twice, cracked numerous ribs, and broke god knows what else... I once had the displeasure of watching a cop stroll over to a friends house to tell his mom the guy had broken his neck when bailing on an '8.6 vert... I though she was gonna kill usfor sure... Btw Bubba, those are some nice bearings.... Where'd ya nick 'em from ?
hehe, I bought the bearings a few months ago when I had my new deck built for me(Cost me $350). I was kind of disapointed to find that they didn't stock and Swiss bones...so the china bones had to suffice. I was told that they no longer make swiss bones :-( Alot has changed since I last sk8'ed & it had only been about 5 years.
dvs revival 3's camo splay version and i have quite a few older pairs, some berras, and other various shoes from DVS, and edtines
Bubba, whoever told you they stopped making swiss bones is full of sh*t, if they where, it would say so here : http://bonesbearings.com/bearings/
those bastards. That'll teach me for going into a shop to get a deck put together. Oh well, I can order parts from the net now anyhow. Still, the China Bones aint bad at all. I'll post a pic when CoZZa fixes his friggin gallery.
If I remember correctly, it was a Newporter Standard. It was thinner than the ones nowadays & you got severe high speed wobble! The wheels of the time where Ulons! (I think!). Some boards had grippy black stuff on them, a bit like rubberised coarse sandpaper. Here is a link to one on E-Bay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7235024356&ssPageName=MERCOSI_VI_ROSI_PR4_PCN_BIX Hell, seeing that brings back many memories! I wish I could work out how to put the pic it in my post!
I'll do it for ye Pulsar : Clay wheels... great.... one crack in the pavement or a pebble, and ye get thrown off for a short flying lesson and a hard confrontation with gravity, and the subsequent concrete smack...
Thanks for that! It took me ages to get Bender in my sig & that was pure luck. I follow all the guidelines & get nowhere incredibly quickly!
Brings back some memories, Powell Peralta was always my board of choice. And I still want to see Neph with those pink high heels on. Cheers!
I think I owned one of those plastic boards when I was about 7. Damn, I ended up with some nasty graises from that.
