ok so i've done what Sophocles told me to do and drop ram voltages when overclocked and so far it is working very stable. I am currently at 1.7voltage and it still seems very stable without bsods as well. So thanks for the help really appreciate it.
I believe I stated that you should raise your voltage to about 2.10 until you find your stable overclock and then you lower it and continue to test for stability. The Jedec standard for DDR2 is 1.8V but most high performance memory manufacturers bin them for quality and higher speeds. Along with those increased speed capacities also comes a higher RAM voltage requirements. I'm running Corsair Dominator RAM with a voltage setting of 2.10V. because the Q6600 has a somewhat limited overclock you might be able to run it between 1.8V and 2.10 but I would recommend that you not go lower than 2.0V to start. What make is your RAM? By experimenting a bit you are moving in the right direction and you'll master it in no time. Good Luck.
one set of the dual channel ram 2x1gb is from corsair idk what type of make however and the other dual channel ram 2x1gb was stock ram that came with the system and i don't know what make it is.
