wacky click on the last link in my signature area and you will be brought to my cardshring tutorial for newbies . have a read ,as you say you have a dm500s and sky dish so thats a good start . you will need to connect your dm500s to your broadband router using an ethernet cable .is the dm500s set up and working ? , i mean does it have a working image on it. i would have recommended the starview 6 (for cable) but i dont know if its a good idea at the minute ,have a look at the starview 6 threads including the thread starview 6 futureproof?. if you have any questions just ask.

I have been waiting for the Kryptview to work again in Ireland, and I have the money to buy it straight away, but after reading that the Starview has gone tits up I am now looking into Sat, I have come across this http://www.cccamland.com/dm500.html and I am thinking that it will take all the hastle out of setting one up, same price more or less as a kv or sv. So my question's are will this come ready to plug in and play or is there a catch, has anyone used this site before, is it a good site or are there better out there, any help would be great.

That's a rip off mate, that box is a clone of a dm500s you can buy the same box without the server connection for £51.09 delivered from hong kong. You could then choose your own server. box here.

you can get a plug and play box as you say for satellite but i would avoid it if i were you ,ill leave it up to others to advise you on starview6 (but if your reading the threads you will know the story)the kryptview a750(with iconnector)or the a780 are currently uk only ,as far as my experience on these forums takes me but i stand corrected if im wrong. my own opinion is i wouldnt give these guys your credit card details as then if they are caught the cops could get your details from your credit card number.
get 4 or 5 friends/family to join with you and get a sky card and share that way ,then you have no worries about credit cards etc. have a look at the starview6/kryptview threads ,also have a look at my tutorial by clicking on the last link in my sgnature area. if you have any questions please feel free to ask.

dont bother with starview thread as piopat is right about that
feel free with any of the kryptview threads
also if you did have to give credit card details you could always get a pre paid card
but with the bit of knowledge i know about sat what was said above about doing it with friends would/is the best way

Ok so I have just bought this box http://satworld.ie/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=24 (its a dreambox clone)and the chap in the shop recommended to load with a Gemini Image and he done it for me, now at home I can see all the channels and can only view the usual free channels, I am just at a bit of a loss as what to do next, when I go into CCcam info and press ok on Main it says, sorry connection to CCcam refused, check that CCcam is running and your plugin settings,

What do I need to do now, and btw it is not connected to the internet yet

you have to connect your box to your broadband router (it needs to be connected at all times) then you need to install cccam (you do this via the dreambox remote)then you need to set cccam as the default cam for your dreambox. here are instructions for the gemini image
here are instructions to install cccam and setting cccam as the default cam using gemini
    images.

the error with connection to cccam refused is a bug in the version of cccaminfo you are running. have a search around for a newer version of cccaminfo for an enigma 1 box which the dm500 is

error in socket also often refers to no password set, you can change password by opening a telnet session and typing "passwd". Think you will have issues using the system you have set up, your best bet would be to get a 3g router if your going to use a 3g dongle, if not you will have to set your pc up to allow your internet access to be shared.
