The only way i could make that is if you sent me your headphones. Since i can't buy just the headphones anywhere i dont have a way to have the connectors i need without salvaging the supplied headphones.

hello everyone, i downloaded the movie thing so you can put movies on your CECT P168. if you would like me to convert a movie for you, feel free to send me an e-mail with the movie attached (if attaching a file that large works). jeanyus420@msn.com

if you're also looking for a bigger memory card, your best bet is going on ebay and looking for a 2gb SD memory card. will cost about $30. there probably about $100 in the cell phone stores, if not more. i bought a 512MB and it cost me almost $45. but thats in NY where they rip you off alot.

Hey guys, been reading the posts and i have some suggestions. As for the 2gb card, i walk into tigerdirect here in miami and got the 1gb for $21, the only reason i didn't get the 2gb card for $23 is because i wasn't sure if the phone will support it. As for the xilisoft, as someone has already stated download the software with the link already provided in this post. The individual also provides a "KEYGEN", for those not up on the lingo, this is a program which will generate you a serial number so you can use the full program with no limitations. As for me i converted them to 3gp. (be careful not to click 3gp2, that isn't supported). Like i said once converted just connect phone to pc and copy to video folder. I have about 6 movies on my phone. I'm still working on fine tuning the audio to amr, and some other things.

Just an update on the audio conversion to amr file extension. I used a123 audio to mp3 amr aac audio converter, and took a 5mb file to 489 kb. the sound quality was excellent. So that's an easy way of put a whole lot of music on the phone.

    Questions :

    1) According to me, an important information for users would be to know all the Bluetooth profiles supported by the CECT P168 iFone. It could help us to know which devices we could connect to it by Bluetooth.

Here is a list of Bluetooth profiles (taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bluetooth_profile). Kyle or somebody else, please quote all the profiles supported by the iFone.

By extension, I would be interested by a list of devices (Bluetooth USB keys, earplugs, access points, etc.) tested successfully by iFone current users.

For example, I have a D-Link DBT-900AP Bluetooth Access Point, connected by Ethernet on my DSL modem/router, and it would be glad for me to surf the internet using this DSL connexion instead of the GPRS connexion.

And I'd also like to use a stereo headset in order to replace the included wire earphones :

1 Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
2 Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP)
    3 Basic Imaging Profile (BIP)
    4 Basic Printing Profile (BPP)
5 Common ISDN Access Profile (CIP)
    6 Cordless Telephony Profile (CTP)
    7 Device ID Profile (DID)
    8 Dial-up Networking Profile (DUN)
    9 Fax Profile (FAX)
    10 File Transfer Profile (FTP)
11 General Audio/Video Distribution Profile (GAVDP)
    12 Generic Access Profile (GAP)
13 Generic Object Exchange Profile (GOEP)
14 Hard Copy Cable Replacement Profile (HCRP)
    15 Hands-Free Profile (HFP)
16 Human Interface Device Profile (HID)
    17 Headset Profile (HSP)
    18 Intercom Profile (ICP)
    19 Object Push Profile (OPP)
20 Personal Area Networking Profile (PAN)
21 Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP)
    22 Serial Port Profile (SPP)
    23 Service Discovery Profile (SDAP)
24 SIM Access Profile (SAP, SIM)
    25 Synchronisation Profile (SYNCH)
    26 Video Distribution Profile (VDP)
27 Wireless Application Protocol Bearer (WAPB)

2)It would be great if one of iFone users would test all the supportable video and audio format and give us the feedback of each video format supported/unsupported. Who is candidate ?

    3) I'd like to know if somebody has tested the iFone P168 with a Bluetooth GPS receiver and a JAVA map and navigation software such :

Thank you for your answers and feedbacks.

WHEW!! I got tired just reading your want list! That's quite a list you have there. I use my Motorola BT headset with my P168, and it seems to work quite good, except that every time I turn on the phone or the headset, I have to have them find each other again. I'll try to communicate between my Palm T|X and the P168 and let you all know how that turns out. Not sure what I'll be able to do, though.

Good luck in your search. My P168 says BT version 1.2.

I listed ALL the Bluetooth profiles available.

If I would keep only ones which interest me :

1 Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) >> in order to use stereo headset for listenting MP3 files
8 Dial-up Networking Profile (DUN) >> in order to use the GPRS modem of the P168 with a laptop
9 Fax Profile (FAX) >> idem
10 File Transfer Profile (FTP) >> in order to load MP3/MP4 files from my laptom to the P168 without any USB cable
13 Generic Object Exchange Profile (GOEP) >> in order to swap Vcards with other mobile phones
    15 Hands-Free Profile (HFP) >> enough explicite
17 Headset Profile (HSP) >> enough explicite
19 Object Push Profile (OPP) >> quite the same as GOEP I guess
20 Personal Area Networking Profile (PAN) >> in order tu browse the web with a Bluetooth Access Point such as the D-Link DBT-900AP which I own
21 Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) >> enough explicite
22 Serial Port Profile (SPP) >> in order to connect a Bluetooth GPS receiver
