    Aye,

Did you see the suggestion I made in another post?

If you have nthell and are paying for a box, get the sports on it and order another box, give that to a mate and split the differance, so if the sports + espn costs 40 per month + extra box at say 8 euro, thats 48 quid, split the cost, thats now 24 for you and 24 for your mate, add another box to that and its cheaper.

so its 40 for sports + say 16 approx for the extra 2 boxs, thats 56 euro, split that in 3, thats 19 euros approx per month for all yer sports, cheaper than paying a CS and wont go off when encryption changes, worth thinking about..............

Yeah they'll all be gone soon. Oh well hopefully a fix in 2010.

I thought of that awhile back and pm'd e45 and he said it would work. Didn't think I could post something like that. Anyway the guy in the flat above changed his mind so I ended up having to get it by myself.

it works the same as bringing your upccc box to your mates and it works there, once you are in the same area, so you are in the nthell area it will work yes, so if yer mates up the road or 5 mile away, it will work, again, once he is on the same network as you.

Yes there is talkback on the box, but it dont tell ya what address your in, just the box is working

I for one dont mind paying 19 to 20 quid a month for all my sport and without the fear of it being cut off or worrying were the next fix is coming from, for me, it outstrips the cost of a sat dish and set up and paying for a CS.

I didn't think there is any talkback on these boxes in use, as mine is connected to nothing but the incoming feed and this doesn't relay any imformation to the provider. They have the capability but it's not in use was what I thought was the setup. It would definitely work but I'm wondering is it worth the hassle if the sports are about 20 euro a month anyhow? Mind you not paying them either just wondering!

well a CS to a server which could be turned off at anytime costs more, so I think for folk on cable its a viable alternative to sat and CS when they dont have a Sat set up to start with,

Most folk want to plug and play and not bother messing about with dreamboxs, CS, Linux, Sat etc. So I think 20 notes for all chans + sports is a good option, especially if they are paying sub to the provider already for basic packs,

Oh I agree mate. Especially about the c/s option, I haven't bothered with that road and don't think I will. I just mean't about the cable setup with multiple boxes you mentioned. Don't know if I could be @rsed with the setup as the savings aren't great.

I repeat though, thats only my opinion!

he he, same as yerself, looked at the sat options, fair amount of work in it and with the CS not being a certain, works out the same as the cable option I mentioned.

the cost for myself to do the above with my norm sub, would be about 60 a week approx, Max pack + 3 sky + espn give or take a few bob, but its the most hassle free way at present until something better comes about.

Definitely for the cable it's the only way around it at the moment.
Went a different way myself with the sat setup though (protek). I watch my football in hers now where I set it up or on PC to TV.

yep, doing that myself, watching the footy and connecting to the TV from the lappy, crystal clear to.

But with the othe chans now dying away, gonna have to use their boxs again sadly for the normal chans, the sport will just use the lappy to the TV
