Different places have different sayings, fact! Bet, you've never heard the saying 'he was here before' and other ones we use in Ireland. I was just interested in that one as i've honestly never heard of it. Sorry if i offended. It's not removed. I'm really not trying to. Maby i should get back on topic.

    Modchip feature comparison chart http://www.xbox-scene.com/modchips4_table.htm

Basicly you get what you pay for. More features = Bigger Price Tag

Look around and see what one you like the features of and, most inportantly, read the user guides to see if they are easy to use. I would recommend going for one with a built-in OS.

Have you checked the motherboard for any damage around the a/v output section? I know an xbox doesn't boot correctly when you don't have the a/v cables plugged into the back of it, so I'm thinking maybe either the cables are bad or the outputs are. Try using a spare set of cables from a friend. Let me know if that helps any.

well about the A/V cable thing, if the cable isnt plugged in ti flashes red/orange, mien frags 3x with no a/v. I have tried another set of cables and it didn't help any.

Then your problem is one of two things...
    1. Bad motherboard or damaged motherboard. After all it was in a pawn shop!
or 2. Bad a/v connectors. I would physically check where the motherboard and the outputs connect.

    Possible solutions.

    1. If you are good at replacing a soddering, replace the a/v unit with another one. (xbox uses standard a/v outputs) ex..vcr outputs

or 2. Go buy a new xbox or a used one from a game shop.

wait, might it be a video mode switch, might that have caused this? also how would I connect a regular a/v thing to it?
