    OK boys...yes I am female...mate ;)

I just bought a gig of memory. It's always been on my list to do since I bought this pc...just procrastinated. At leas the price has dropped dramatically for ddr ram....I just paid $50 for a 1 gig stick of pc2700 ddr ram :)

That'll bump me up to 1.5 gigs of ram. Should do the trick, eh?

@klouseau, Looks like you're OK with the RAM! 1.5 gigs should be enough! Still, close down Norton & disconnect from the "Net" disconnect BEFORE you close Norton down. Disable your Screensaver too. Good Advice, Get some better media. Try Verbatims. About ALL Burners like them. They are VERY GOOD! You're a Female Huh? Cool! Always Glad to Help a Lady! Well, I am always glad to help anyone really! You really got a good deal on that RAM Lady! Nice going!

Yeah Pulsar, Norton IS a HOG! Resource HOG, Big Time!
Not good unless you have Super Computer! Good Protection, but resource HOG for sure! I used to have it, no more. Never again. Too many Less resource Hungry options to go with them again.

Hey this girl is an electronic freak. I love any kind of electronics, from dig cameras to MP3 players to DVD recorders etc. I am the tech whiz at home and have wired our satellite (also split to 4 tvs throughout the house), dvd recorder, dvd players....including my region free macro free player so I can watch all those hilarious British comedies like Men Behaving Badly and Gimme Gimme Gimme, gamecubes etc etc etc.

I am very good at keeping spyware and adware off my pc. I hate norton but hate viruses even worse ;) I am adept at going into msconfig and keeping those unwanted programs out of my pc too ;)

I have been burning my own movies for about 3 years now, and besides having the odd blank media problem, having my dvdxcopy plat not work for the first time in 3 years was the first major stumbling block I have run into.

I successfully backed up my 40 yr old virgin, so we'll see how things go from here with clonedvd2. I will def buy verbatim next time! Thanks for the tips.

I'll let you guys know how the new ram works out when it comes in.

@ klouseau, Here's where you can get FREE Anti-Virus that doesn't use much resources! In case you're interested! Good luck with your RAM! And Good Luck Burning Lady! ;)

By the way, there have been some issues with DVD Xcopy & conflicts with other burning programs.(AnyDVD) I would remove that program completely. With AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2, you will never need Xcopy. Believe me, I used to have it. It's long gone. It was very good in it's day. But extinct now.
