    I never try on win98. So I dont know.
    I try on windows xp or 2000.

    What happen with ftp?

    this is ftp

    Pc config:
    IP add: 192.168.1.100
    subnet: 255.255.255.0
    gateway: blank

    Xbox config:

    IP add: 192.168.1.101
    subnet: 255.255.255.0
    gatway: 192.168.1.100 (same as pc ip)
    using a static ip

    connect pc to router and xbox to router by using ethernet cable.

    open FlashFXP type in
    ip 192.168.1.101
    port 21
    pass xbox
    user xbox

    then click connect

    ok i tryed the hotswap and now i cant even play any games it brings up error 16
