If you bought the box in 2006 it would not have been a clone. Is the Chipset inside the box an Intel or Omega. It will say it on the main chip on the board.
OOOWWWWWW! Just gave myself a nice electric shock! I am tring it on another pc. now its searches between to 2 ports but still says cant find box. That with Voxer should I try Dnupman?
You can try dnupman if you like are you using just the null modem cable or have you got a Usb adapter as part of the equation also.
I don’t really know too much about the com ports but when I go to device manager it shows that there are 2 com ports and a printer port. I have tried plugging it into both. Is there anything else I need to change or set? I get the feeling its now gone to Eurovox heaven!
I get the feeling you are right why dont you have someone look at it there are repair services on fleabay.
Hi again. I have just read on some forums that I may wanna try Jkeys instead of Skyup. Do you have info on this and where I can get hold of it. It’s odd because I have both intel and omega chips in it! If I try Jkeys are there any files I need to run it? This is my last attempt!!!!!!
Will they not give them to you over on the other site as if you look there you will find all you need a few posts down entitled dead boxes. Pays to have a look.
Not being funny but is it against some sort of forum rule that you are not allowed to get help on other sites? I totally appreciate all of your help and I did not mean to offend by asking for advice elsewhere. I have been trying to fix this since Feb so I really am sick of it and will take all the advice I can get. Again, Apologies!! Al
Its not against forum rules all I was doing was telling you it was right under your nose on the other site as in a couple of post below here is what was given. Just Follow This Guide By SunRise Connect JTAG and Power up EuroVox Start JKEYS Click on "Development Panel" Click OK to ignore the warning. ** SEE BELOW IF YOU GET AN ERROR HERE ** If all goes well you will get into the development panel. In the user functions box: Type in the address: 80000000 Click on "Load to . . ." Select the file "unlock_28FxxxC3.bin" Click "Trigger User" Close the current window. Click on "Flash Programming" Choose the model number as: DXD426RD (1 Chip-GLA) In the section on the right: Leave the box above set to "Full" Click "Erase" Select YES. This will take a minute to erase. Click on "Program" Select YES to "Program at address 0x7FE00000, size 0x200000?" Choose your TSOP file (whatever one you have). Sit and wait for OK to become active, then click it. Close JKEYS and power the box down. Disconnect your JTAG Power the box on. If all has gone well then it should boot up ready for you to rescan for your channels. *** If you get an error trying to get into the development windows **** Power the box down and run SkyMax v2.2 Power the box up Press start. This seems to reset the box when JKEYS cannot connect (DCU errors). Close SkyMax and start JKEYS and try again. Personally I went with Skymax first and then jkeys as it seems to work better. Now you use this version of jkeys as it has the unlock bin included. Jkeys http://www.mediafire.com/?e9dyyzgn8q3
Hi. Thanks for the info. I just tried to connect with both Skymax and Jkeys and both say they cant connect to com port. It worked yesterday with is weird. I have since looked at it and it is an Intel.
Is your parellel port opening and is it set to EPP and IRQ 378 as it needs to be. You can change the settings in the bios. You are using the Jtag to do this and not the null modem cable I presume?
Great news...I managed to run Jkeys and now my box will come out of stand by and I have full LED display. Now I am trying to flash using Voxer and Dnupman and it says com port not found. ANy ideas....I have come this far and I am so happy to have had your help!
Using voxer with your null modem cable it should auto detect your serial port. Go to device manager and check your comm ports.
Thanks to your help I now have 238 channels. Thanks so much for your patience with my problem and my stupid questions. I will write down what worked and hopefully be able to remember what I did! Best wishes, Al
