    try using wimdows movie maker as the capture software to see if the ports and cables are working

    it does not matter what software is used, it does not recognise that the camcorder is connected to the pc

    i have a friend with a camcorder i will borrow as soon as i can and then ill be able to test if it is my camcorder that does not work or if it is the pc and cables etc
