i have seen posts regarding 2.1.4 and people mentioned the got freezing where they did not get it on 2.1.3. one thing to check might be your signal strenght ,go to the worst channel you have for freezing and press menu ,then 6 (setup) and open service searching ,go to satfind and press ok . your snr should be about 90% (give or take ) and agc should be around the same percentage ,also lock and sync should have a green tick on them .if the signal is low the ticks will alternate between green ticks and red x. this is just one thing to check and rule out . if you are using c lines and your signal is ok why not get a free test line and see do you have the same freezing and glitching problems. some servers are overloaded with clients.
in general glitching is really not a cam issue. SG8, if you search on cccam 2.1.4 on afterdawn you will find a thread where i posted the links to this software. having said that it should be available on the dm500 via the blue button/software management/downloads. Glitching is usually associated against a weak input signal. Now this can be due to multiple issues, dish alignment, poor quality coax cable. In my own case both of these issues were fine so I installed an in line amplifier on the line to solve the problem. But that was just to solve high definition issues. for standard definition i would expect that the first two problems are most likely. That being said an in-line amplifier will help in both these cases but i would suggest that you confirm that the dish is properly aligned and connectors are properly in place
