    DB...

Here's a guide from the Nero site. Bigorange can tell you if it's any good. You might even get him to walk you through it. Just give 'em some time to fetch his cane and bifocals...

at the moment my dvd has 1 menu with the different "chapters" of my video, i would like to have something similar to a main menu on a retail dvd so i can put a separate piece of 'message footage'(the dvd is being sent overseas to family)i want them to think i got really clever since i last saw them!

Tsk,Tsk,Tsk,DB, nerovision will do more than give you chapters, however, if you really want to have a reeeeaaaly good menu, there is a program called DVDLab. It ain't cheap, 99.00, but, (there's always a but)it does have a 30 day trial to see if you want to keep it. Or if you just need it for this clip......
PS-this app ia not as easy to use as NVE2, but it does have a good help section with it and it does create some dandy menus.

There's also an application that I use for capturing and editing and it will also allow you to make chapters and menu's. DVDit by ulead. It too will cost a lot of money about $300.

if you use TMPGEnc it takes a long long long time but very good quality, with nero vision i can transcode and burn in between 3 and 8 hours depending on size of file quality is still good too. i think its an easier piece of software to use because it does everything in one and the menu options are cool!

DB, what the master guru is referring to, with a sly smile on his face I suspect, is once upon a time the situation was reversed and I was in your shoes when Pete told me of the power of Nero, specifically Recode. Ah, but I listened and being the faithful disciple that I am, I am now passing his teachings on to you. One day, hopefully you will pass what you have learned on to someone else and thus the circle will remain intact. We call that circle AfterDawn. How am I doing Master? heh heh heh

okay im having problems again up to now i have been burning the nero vision project straight to dvd as have only wanted one copy of my movie.

Now i have a new project that i want 2 copies of so i selected write to hard disc instead of dvd. But when i go to open the saved project it just starts transcoding it again and says it will take another 5 hours, why can't i just burn the project again after saving it?
