I've done some checking and now realize I need to switch back to Verbatims (used them last year, but tried other disks (I figured Fujis and Ritek disks were ok, but now know better). I have been getting complaints from clients on skipping and freezing. I've been using DVD-Rs mostly. I've also been asking what players they have, but was mostly concerned about the couples' players. Now , I ask what the brands the parent's have. I've been checking out the dvdrhelp site for months so I am already familiar with that site. I have considered raising my prices too so the couple can get a player that's guaranteed to play the videos I produce, but I'd have to raise it more so both parents would get players too, but not sure if I will do that. I have been converting printable DVD+R Riteks to DVD-ROM by booktyping them, but was still experiencing skipping and freezing problems so I assume Verbatims may resolve those problems. I had the same problems with Fuji DVD-Rs too. I'll try going to CompUSA for printable Verbatims (or Taiyo Yuden DVD+Rs) so I will minimize format compatibility problems. Have you tried booktyping DVD+Rs before? I'm using a LiteOn 1633 with Omnipatcher (learn more about it at http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=97590 (you have to be a member to access that page I think) and download the program at http://codeguys.rpc1.org/patchers.html. Omnipatcher works with LiteOn drives only. Tom H.
