I got the e-mail too, but you can't use it to renew your current license, for those of us who missed out on the lifetime updates :(

yeah I got it too. I will be using the free options since my platinum just ran out. I have AnyDVD lifetime and will continue to rely on it until it fails.

You don't need to purchase anything.
DVDFab HD Decrypter includes Blu-Ray ripping and it's free.

I just noticed that I screwed around and didn't get the last release of v.5 (5.2.5.0) downloaded. Is there anywhere reliable that it is available. Not interested in anything bad, just would like to have the last update.

Why haven't you switched to 6xxx??

Edit: Change of heart: I have also renewed my sub for 2 years since it was not expensive and they do a great job. Keep it up guys and gals.

    I am running both.

SO you had a change of heart huh? Here I was thinking that I wasn't going to renew and I didn't feel too bad about it because you weren't either. now what do I do?? LOL
I still haven't made up my mind yet. I have sent them a few e-mails lately about some pricing questions and all I get back from them is generalizations and not real answers. So I am not sure yet.

    @fergui1

It was $7.99 USD / year. $15.98 for 2 years, which is what I opted for.

    I'm curious.
Does anyone here use the free DVDFab HD Decrypter?
    Does it still work?
Some people are reporting that after the trial period for DVDFab has expired, that they can no longer use the supposedly free HD Decrypter part.

Yes, i still frequently use the freebie decrypter-only v4.x program (on my Windows 7 RC1 machine), mainly for ripping old movies for AutoGK duties.
Just going to check on the Quad Core machine, i might have extra versions on there (this machine has 4.1.2.0 Decrypter-only, 5.2.5.0 Platinum and 6.0.1.0 Platinum).

edit- yep, the other machine has the above and 4.1.2.0 Platinum (I can't remember why 4.1.20 Platinum isn't on this machine but i digress).

Sorry, been up virtually all night, my memory and brain are mush :p

6.x still shows HD Decrypter as 'Never Expire' (same on both my main machines)
