With respect to the problems with 'Encrypted Data' . I to had problems with backing up some DVD's. From the Xcopy site they gave two possible solutions, a) Make sure that you use your burner for both the 'read' and the 'write' or b) Start the movie, with your player such as WinDVD etc, let it play for a minute or two, then start DVDXcopy, once XCopy has read the disc, close you player and start the read process. Has always seemed to work for me. :p

Everyone keeps forgetting to mention the version your running is the ripper free version meaning it won't copy encrypted dvd's. The fact you keep using other programs to decrpt them will work but that is not what your version of dvdx supports. On the other hand your old 3.21 version would copy encrypted dvds which is why a court ruling a few months ago made 321 studios discontinue this product and any store carrying that version was forced to destroy their copies due to copyright laws. My suggestion, reinstall version 3.21 however you won't get a code from 321 to get it to work so good luck....

For those having some problems, it can be your drive to. I've had similar issues on my computer. I tried to read the disk with my hp dvd rom, and i got errors. so i stuck it in my sony dvd rom, and it read perfectly.

B.S ... You don't need any other programs to work with any XCopy RF versions. All you need is a patch ... 321rip(which has been available since May 23, 2004)

So would every version up to v4.0.3.8(the last ripper version)

Here's a better suggestion if you want to still use XCopy Platinum. E-mail support@321studios.com, give them your current license and password, [bold]ask them to issue you a new ripper free license[/bold]. They should issue you a new license(same password), reset your activations to 10, and allow you to download Platinum or any RF XCopy product.

Once you download and install your RF XCopy product, get 321rip: http://321rip.tripod.com/, this will enable your ripper free version to rip again :) Also XCopy Platinum RF is the only version where the browse button works, so your now able to burn movies(video_ts files) that are saved on you hd.

    DVD shrink encountered errors
maximum number of secrets that may be stored in a single system has been exceeded.
Can some one tell me what this means?

    blonde0ne ,
Welcome and I remember seeing this on another forum and if I remember correctly it has something to do w/ burner not being set to the correct region. Check what region your burner is set for and correct it if necessary.
This forum now has a Shrink Thread so please come on over there and we will be happy to help you there.

Try cleaning the disc. I'm able to rip The Last Samurai with DVD Decrypter.

Hmmm, I too had an error after installing sp2.. after reinstalling xcopy tho I have no conflicts and it works along with sp2 :p ... to solve the encrypted data issue, I always play the DVD to kinda unlock it.. or have the DVD playing as I boot xcopy.. then it works fine !
