Use the search function, type in bouducon.dll and enter search, if you don't have the file, the patch won't work, you're replacing a file that is named.
bro bear my frien... Thanks for answering, but I already did all that "search" stuff. There is no "bouducon.dll" file on my computer. I have DVD Extreme and it has many programs within it... one of those programs is dvdxcopy express rf. I am lost here. Everything I've read about the 321 patch indicates that it will work on any copy of xcopy xpress. Well, my copy comes with DVD Extreme not platinum. Is there anyone out there that you know of that might know how to get this to work? Please help. I spent 100 bones on this program, and it don't even work.
What the Rip patch does is change the bouducon.dll in the RF to *.bak and replace the original file with one from a ripper version. Ask PsiDoc what he thinks in this forum. Since you're dealing with a name and not the function the patch can't find where to go. _X_X_X_X_X_[small][bold]'brobear'[/bold] [/small]
*** Edit *** 11/06/04 I have re-written the patch to be more intelligent, as some seem not to be able to find the correct folder to execute the patch in. Well if the installation was performed in the dafault location then the patch will do the work for you. If it's not it will prompt you to locate it manually. Regards, Psi
New on this board but not a newbie... Ok, can someone send me platinum RF 4.0.4.15 or put it along with 321rip on a cdr for me? Obviously i haven't been able to get platinum RF 4.0.4.15 and if anyone can hook it up by putting it or both (321) an a cdr for me and sending em will gladly send 50 bucks as one hand washes the other. I asked someone else but so far no reply so need a lil help & hoping someone comes through. Thanks, Mike aka Slasher slasherses@yahoo.com
slasher, You should be able to go directly to 321's site and if you can't find a download call support and they'll set you up with a proper download. They take pretty good care of their customers, they really do - As for 321Rip, it's free, we don't sell anything around here - Here's the link: http://321rip.tripod.com/ Enjoy, Sea Yaaaaa, Pete PS If you really have an extra $50.00 to throw away, send it to the Crippled Children's Fund
Ohhh Mike, while we're at it, here's a link to our form's rules so that you don't break any more of them - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/2487 Sea Yaaaaa, Pete
[bold]PsiDOC[/bold] -- I have both the Ripper and RF version. It seems that when I got Platinum and went to the site to register it asked me to download a new version. It turns out it was the RF. But supposedly both will co-exist on my system. Up to now have been afraid to try. Switched to Shrink but it seems to have died on me. My question will 321rip replace the dll on my ripper version, or just the rf version. On your site it says if you have more than 1 RF version...what if you have the ripper and RF version. Hate that splash screen. 2 of my players sometimes hang on that screen for up to a minute or more.
Hi I just downloaded the RF version (321RIP installed) and tryed to copy MONSTER and in the burning phase it failed and said to see log. I couldn't find the log anywhere. Does anyone know what causes this and is there anyway to fix it? Thank's Era2000
Pany, As a long time owner of Platinum, I can say the two exist well together. It would be safest to open the patch in the correct folder to ensure the right file gets replaced. I think the patch is set to go to the correct folder, so give it a try first, if you don't know where to locate the bouducon.dll file. If for some reason it replaced the file in the ripper version, it wouldn't be a problem. You'd just be changing a ripper file for a ripper file, no foul. Since you have both copies of the program, you can switch files manually. Open both programs in separate windows explorer windows. Rename the bouducon.dll file in the RF version to bouducon.bak (so you can change things back if you want to down the road). Copy the bouducon.dll file in the ripper version and paste it in the RF version. That gets the RF to ripping on it's own. This was being done before the patch. The 321 patch makes it easier for those not knowing the correct file or uneasy manipulating files.
ERA2000 The Log folder resides in the 321 program folder inside the Programs Folder. You have to use windows explorer to open it up. Once you get the message, it may or may not be of help. Since XCopy has a problem with animated movies, I always check to make sure there is a problem other than not handling a particular movie. Copy a short movie you have successfully done before. Use an RW so you don't waste a disc. If it still works with the other movies and not Monster, use another program. I had problems just recently with Jungle Book 2 and Lion King 1 1/2. In fact, I've stopped even trying to use the XCopy for animated Disney movies. Waste less time using something I know will work. If DVD Shrink won't work and now the XCopy is failing, maybe you're running into software interference problems. Check the first suggestion and get back to us. _X_X_X_X_X_[small][bold]'brobear'[/bold] [/small]
Thanks brobear I will look for the log file. I dont know if its there anymore since I closed the program. BTW the movie was MONSTER rated R with Charlize Theron or something. As a newb I went and got DVD Cloner II and have been very successful with it, but I'm hoping to use Xpress too. I will have to get a RW disc. Thanks Era2000
ERA2000 I've got animated movies on the brain. I was thinking Monster INC. If you deleted the program the log file left with it. If you only closed it, the program stores the logs in the Logs folder. Just look for the last in the series, if it was the last log. As anyone needs a checklist with 321 software, here is a tier 2 tech bulletin from before 321's lose in court (when they were still supporting ripper software). If I post this in enough spots, maybe people will see it. It is a good checklist of things to look for before installing the software or anytime one suspects a problem. One should make a copy of this bulletin if they own 321 software. This is relevant with or without the patch. Also, some of these programs effect other recording software. Here is the bulletin: The following programs can cause problems while using our software. Your situation sounds like one of these are installed: [bold]1. B's Clip:[/bold] This package will load a packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start Windows. You will need to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs, then reboot to remove it. For more information, visit the B's website at http://www.bhacorp.com. [bold]2. Direct CD or Drag to Disk:[/bold] These are applications from Easy CD Creator from Roxio. This package will load a packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start Windows. To remove them you need to go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel. There you can select Easy CD Creator to Change - not Remove. Then you click next until it gives you the option to Modify. Then either Direct CD or Drag to Disk should be selected and changed to "make this option not available". Then click Next. While the program may look like it is installing, it is actually removing those options. For more information, please visit Roxio's website at http://www.roxio.com/en/support.index.jhtml [bold]3. GoBack:[/bold] This is backup software that constantly runs in the background (Terminate and Stay Ready) which not only needs to be turned off, but disabled. Unfortunately, this may cause some restore points to vanish, but it will free up a lot of hard drive space. For more information visit Symantec's web site for GoBack at http://www.symantec.com/goback/index.html [bold]4. DLA: Also HP-DLA, Veritas DLA, and others[/bold]. DLA stands for Disk Letter Assignment. This package will load a packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start Windows. You will need to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs, then reboot to remove it. [bold]5. InCD:[/bold] This is packet writing software that comes bundled with Ahead Nero Burning Rom. For more information go to Nero's website at http://www.nero.com/en/ [bold]6. Interactual Player and PC Friendly Player:[/bold] These programs are DVD software viewers that often come on DVD movie discs, and will try to install themselves everytime you watch a movie on your computer. Please make sure to NOT let these install. Both programs interfere with all 321 Studios software and should be un-installed from Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel when found. In some cases, you will need to uninstall and reinstall our software to restore functionality after removing one of these. For more information about both players, visit http://player.interactual.com/ [bold]7. McAfee Anti-Virus:[/bold] This is anti-virus software that when running, can cause errors. It needs to be disabled by right clicking on the icon in the lower right side of the task bar. The 321 Studios software then needs to be restarted. Whenever you are using our software, McAfee needs to be disabled to ensure unrestricted access to your drive. For more info go to McAfee's website at http://us.mcafee.com/default.asp [bold]8. Norton Anti-Virus:[/bold] This is anti-virus software that when running, can cause errors. It needs to be disabled by right clicking on the icon in the lower right side of the task bar and the automatic updates should be disabled. The 321 Studios software then needs to be restarted. Whenever you are using our software, Norton needs to be disabled to ensure unrestricted access to your drive. The Norton Website is http://www.symantec.com/ [bold]9. StopZilla:[/bold] StopZilla can hinder required portions of our installer, causing the software to fail. Please completely disable StopZilla, then install our software. Once our software is installed, you may safely enable it again. If you have any difficulty using our software at a later time, you may need to disable StopZilla before going to use our software. Uninstallation is not required. [bold]10. MyStorageGuard:[/bold] This backup software can hinder certain required files from being copied during the installation. Please disable this program before installing our software, and have it disabled any time you go to use our software. Uninstallation is not required. [bold]11. Napster 2.0:[/bold] This software includes some basic burning software that can cause burning problems if it is running. You will need to close this program completely before trying to use our software. In some rare cases, you will need to completely uninstall this package to attain full reliability, so if disabling does not solve your issue, please try uninstalling this software, and try again. [bold]12. Easy CD Creator 4.x:[/bold] Due to the age of this package, it is no longer updated by the authors. There are bugs present in this older system that will cause NUMEROUS problems on your machine, not just with our software. Please Uninstall completely, and consider either the new 6.x version from Roxio (http://www.roxio.com) or Nero 6.x (http://www.nero.com). These packages, installed without the Packet Writing software (DirectCD/Drag to Disk/InCD), all work very well together with our software. [bold]13. NTI FileCD:[/bold] This program has packet writing software installed with it. This package will load a packet-writing software that will constantly talk to your CD/DVD writer, and can cause a number of issues while trying to write a disc. Disabling this software is not enough, as a portion of this package is always running after you start windows. You will need to uninstall it in Add/Remove Programs, then reboot twice to fully remove it. For more information go to NTI FileCD's Product page at http://www.ntius.com/default.asp?p=cdmaker/filecd_main [bold]Spyware and Adware[/bold] - some programs can install other software that can be damaging to your Operating System. Please scan for these programs with a Spyware utility. We recommend Ad-aware, available freely at www.lavasoftusa.com If you perform any of these changes, you may need to uninstall our software, then re-install to fix any damage left. If you find some of these packages, please shut down and reboot twice to ensure that the last pieces of the conflicting software are completely removed. Every version of windows requires updates. I am new here and I had a question. Is the RF version even possilbe to find? I have searched every way I know how, and cannot find it. I just want to be able to rid myself of the backup notice, which as best as I can tell I either have to do a simple backup, or have an older RF version. Any info would be appreciated. Sam
Hi all, I am still around. Been a bit hectic @ work (14 hour days... Killing me!). pany: 321 rip will not touch your existing ripper enabled software version of Xcopy. All it does is patch the RF versions. sam_adams Which version of Xcopy do you own? Xpress, Gold, or Platinum? Regards, Psi
