Most hacked firmware can be found here. Just use their search and enter your model.

When unlocked, the ripping speed will still vary. Single layer dvd-5 will usually rip up to 12x maybe 14x. Dual layer dvd-9 will rip around 6x to 8x. I use dvdinfopro to check the region setting and speeds. Region on mine shows N/A now, no region number. If you need to download it.

    http://www.dvdinfopro.com.

Nice little tool for checking firmware version, media brand and manufacturer, etc.

    Hi

I don't think so. I'm sure i tried something with DVDInfoPro about booktype's and it said Pioneer's don't support this feature.
    (Almost 100% on this matter)

This is the one I used for my 107,
    http://flashman.rpc1.org/Firmware/PIONEER/DVR-107D/DVR107D_STANDARD/PATCHED/

I used the one dated 30th April 2004 with the DVRFlash.zip.
Had to change the target setting though as it wanted to update drive G: and my 107 is drive E:
Installed easily enough and burns everything at 8XSpeed. Rips with dvd decrypter at anything up to 12XSpeed. I know, I've done it.

hi use the hacked firmware on my pioneer dvdr 107d, it burns my philips(2x) up to 8x speed,
how to you unlock the ripping speed using dvdshrink, or DVDDecrypte?

Just upgraded my Pioneer 1.07D to Firmware version: 1.18 as it supports the following.

    [bold]Change Log[/bold]

    DVD-R Writability Improvement
    DVD+R Writability Improvement
    DVD-RAM Playability Improvement
    CD Playability Improvement
DVD+R DL DoubleLayer Playback Implemented (NOT Record)

Until they bring out a hacked firmware for Revision 1.18 which supports all of the above, makes it region free forever, can write x8 on x4 media(I use Ritek), can write x4 on dvd-RW media and supports the faster ripping speeds from 2x up to 12x as in revision 1.16 I will sit and wait..

[bold]Another point if the drive can read and playback DVD+R DL DoubleLayer media, then I can't see why a hacked firmware can't be released to allow DL DoubleLayer Recording @ x2.4 speed. A similar firmware hack came out on the NEC.[/bold]

So I place a challenge to see who can produce this first.

kaledrr, If you used the proper hacked firmware for your drive, the speed is already unlocked. No need to set anything in your software programs. You can check by using Nero speed check or DVDinfopro. Single layer movies should rip up to 12x speed, Double layer will rip around 6x speed. Speed will vary somewhat so don't be worried about seeing that.

    G'day,
I've been hunting around for the unofficial hacked firmware for 107D but the links don't seem to work or the site http://www.rpc1.com.
has been moved elsewhere. Can anyone link the 1.08 update or e-mail it to me?

    Cheers.
