Is your 120Gib HDD ok I mean can you format it and use it in your PC?
Did you ever try useing ConfigMagic to lock your HDD? When you say your 120Gib HDD, does not boot, Which Error if any comes up on the Screen??

Error 05 - HDD Not locked: Retail Firmware requiers you th have your HDD locked!

Error 06 - HDD Unlock Error: The HDD is locked and the XBOX™ does not know how to unlock this Drive. Transplating One HDD from a Secondary XBOX™ to another One, or useing a HDD that was ATA locked from a PC would cause this Error.

Error 07 - HDD Timeout: This could be as simple as a disconected Power / IDE Cable, or a possible sign that your HDD is dead.

Error 08 - No HDD Found Error: Again check your Connections!

Error 13 - Dashboard Error: Install the M$Dash, either with a XBL! Disc or with a Installer CD like Slayers 2.x.

    Error 14 - See above

Error 16 - RTC Error: Reinstall the M$Dash!

Error 21 - Genearal Dashboard Error: The Dash just hates you and crashed for an unexplanable reasions know only to itself. Reinstalling the M$Dash will correct it...

When I try to boot it wont and just show error code 16. When i put in the original hdd and set the clock and then switch back to the 120gb it shows error code 13 then. When i try to unlock it with the modchip it then shows error code 16 again.

Im not sure exactly how to hook up the hdd to format it with a computer either. Well you know it doesnt have the same hook up as a exterior hdd, its internal.

I don't know what to tell you. I really don't! The HDD in the XBOX™ is in all intents and design IDENTICAL to the one in your PC and Mabey the Mac!! It's your run of the Mill 10Gib (Gigbite), ATA133 HDD.

There are only Two connectors that you need to worry about. the Yellow, Black & Red Molex Power Cable that can only be fitted the One way, and the 40-Wire ATA133 IDE Cable that also can only be fitted the One way. It's not Rocket Science. This is no more difficult in and of itself then say installing a new DVD±R\RW\RAM Burner in your PC. The Connections ARE IDENTICAL!!
