Just hooked up my EWH100F. Everything works great, except I have to have the unit on to watch my satellite. I'm using S-Video in/out. There seems to be no signal pass thru when the Emerson is off. Anyone else have this problem? What's the cure?
I think the unit will only pass through to video, whatever you are watching. After all, you have many sources that this unit handles. TV Signal, DVR, DVD, VCR and external video. The way most units operate is to pass your antennae signal through relatively untouched. What you watch comes out through your video cable on this unit. If the unit is off, it doesn't send any video signal out. How would it know what you really expected to see? Brokk...
I'll give the RF cable a try. Really hate to lose the S-Video signal. It really is a better quality picture. I'll let you know what happens.
After trying many combinations here are the connections that came closest to working the way I wanted: RF cable from SAT TV OUT direct to TV IN input. AV cables from SAT to Emerson to Video 1 S-Video cable from satellite to Emerson to Video 1 To watch just satellite with Emerson off I use TV input To watch SAT/DVD/DVR I use Video 1 with S-Video ON (or OFF, both ways work). To watch VCR I use Video 1 with S-Video OFF (with S-Video on I get VCR sound with SAT/DVD/DVR picture). For good measure I connected my BUD to Video 2. Three more AV cables. Enough cable behind my TV to wire the space shuttle. Would have so much simpler if the engineers had used a normally closed circut on the S-Video port, but I'm sure they had their reasons. Still trying to find the Device Code(s) for the Emerson EWH100F. With the proper code my SAT box will turn on the Emerson EWH100F and start recording, I hope Any help there? Thanks all
I recorded a VHS (which don't have titles) to the HDD. I want to save the HDD data to DVD, but can't seem to edit from the HDD and don't want to transfer without editing. Need some help editing the HDD when no titles or playlists are included - Thanks Mike
Does anyone have the remote control codes to turn off the macrovision protection? I know on several DVD recorder combo units some folks have figured out a button combination that lets you disable the copy protection. Thanks
