you need to update the firmware mate, you can do it via the remote, just make sure your box has internet access. the latest firmware is 24\03\2011. since kv is down, you wont be able to update anyway. The box itself automatically scanns channels while on standby.
After all what's been said previously about KV, would it be correct to say that when push comes to shove there all just the same and all prone to such problems as exist now. There was constant ridiculing when the SV went down and much gloating. Can we now say, you take your chance with either regardless of the sales pitch and hype one may have over the other. I'm after honest opinions rather than, anti KV or SV remarks.

thats the name of the game and we all knew the score there was no time scale could have lasted a day a week amonth a year or maybe more thats the crack with the boxes the reason sv was getting slated is coz it was off more than on. thats all
Any box can go at any time once things happen how many times where Sv hit twice then we had the spiderbox cardshare that was next then we had KV so any box no matter cable or sat once there is other factors involved YES can be put out of action for how long who knows im sure this wont be the end of boxes been hit!
Hopefully people will realise this, and that every day using this type of product has been a good day. As been said many times, pay for £ take your chance. Otherwise pay your subs.
i wanna watch the footy this week can i watch it online any one no good link or will the boxes be up and running?
myp2p is good for streaming the footy mate,as for the boxes just wait till me crystal ball powers up and il tell yer
Its a shame that its all down at the mo but past experience as shown me that MIKAH and e45 always tell it like it REALLY is and if there ever js a problem i only seek out there posts as these guys are veterens in da bizz ,this is why im just sitting tight and waiting 4 an improved return of the futureproof KV boxes Cheers Chaps ......
no disrespect to mickah or e45 who supply huge support to users on this forum but do comprehend what has occurred. a kv agent has been arrested, the kv servers have been taken down in response, it really isn't hard to see where this goes next. to have such a big public server is just waiting for yhe tv suppliers to pounce. advice: find an alternative
maybe people who not happy with the kv780 boxes going off should upgrade thier subs with murdoch and branson
Sorry Dan, have to disagree on your last point, this is the first major hiccup the Krypt has had compared to the SV, SV have been dire, from the service to the punters on the early boxs, right up to the SV7, freezing, missing chans, raided twice, incomplete firmware fixs on nearly all models, up and down service, off for long lengths of time, if you were to add up the days its been constantly on, you be lucky to get 8 months of constant viewing out of the SV6/7 across the board, So I dont know where you can summarize that the Krypt is as bad? I am basing this on the last few years and hard facts and service to the customers, Think folks have short memories when comparing the two, I aint Sv bashing, just pointing out the cold facts about em
