okay, i have read the tut, but can i actually take this chip out, it is solderless, attach it to the non-working xbox, basically turn it on, get this hdd working, then take chip out and put it back into where it came from?

Answer your question. To unlock that broken hdd, you have to install Xenium on the the broken xbox. Ofcourse, the broken hdd is in a broken xbox. Boot xbox up with the AID disk inside the dvd drive.

Eplorer the menu to find Config magic. it will unlock the hdd

You dont have to unlock the hdd anymore. I can restore msdash for the broken xbox with this modchip. After that you can take off the modchip and xbox still work.

 

what is your xbox version?
what is the modded xbox version?

I hope they are either both old or both new. So modchip will work fine.

they are both versions 1.1, i took the modd out of the xbox, putting it in the other one now, doesnt look difficult, should take a couple of minutes!
