Error 21

if the hdd is unlock, hook it back to pc on the secondary IDE port. Turn on PC, ofcourse pc can't read it, but xplorer360 will read it. YOu should be able to explore inside the hdd. You can find the real eeprom in there too.

 

it still doesnt work, i am ordering a mod chip for mine and am going to hook it up in the non working one and fix it that way!

 

hmm tired with this hdd. Ok go for modchip.

When i done my HDD i was running Windows Xp sp 2.

So have you given up with this now? it does seem to be weird why you can not get xboxplorer to see the disk :-(
I pnly had trouble the first time of doing thsi until i connected my pc power cale to the box hdd and then all worked fine so i', now at as loss as to what to suggest :-(

do you think windows can cause problems to read linux hdd?
You and ftphelp have same windows xp sp2. But sesko has windows xp pro sp2.

His computer actually saw the hdd in system manager. But the xplorer360 can't find the FatX.

 

Sorry i meant to say Wondows xp pro sp 2. when you get sp2 all xp's become the same I'm not sure why it can not read his drive, on mine i always got the messge saying cannot read fatx drive but it still showed my partitions down the side so I am stumped with this one.

I now run Windows Xp media center and can still see my xbox hard drive when its connected in xbox plorer.

 

weird. Maybe the hdd is fried.

okay, so if i get a modchip, install it on my working xbox i have, i should be able to put that hard drive i can unlock into it, and should i be able to put a bootable dvd in, the one i made with xboxhdm? and dump the files back onto it? or what do i have to do? can you help with this one?

 

heres another thought, not sure if we covered this or not, but please bare with me!
on my evox dashboard, config sys settings, there is the option to either unlock or lock my hard drive, what are these settings actually for? if i were to click on unlock, thinking that this will infact unlock the hard drive(keep in mind, this is on my working soft modded xbox right now)!, should i then be able to place this in, with the power still on the hard drive, remove the ide cable, then slide it into the non-working xbox, power it on, would this boot up properly, then go back into the dashboard, click lock hard drive, then ftp into it, back up the eeprom onto my computer and thus giving me the hard drive password key for the lock hard drive we are trying to unlock?

i hope this makes some sense, i am just grasping at ideas now before i go ahead and buy a mod chip!

 

ummm i believe all that info is on on your messed up hdd....i guess....but can anytell me why i see only partion 0-3 in xbox360.....it sucks it dont even work

will xplorer360 create another partition for you? i think you are talking about xplorer360 and not xbox360, anyways, or you could create a new hard drive which will give you all your partitions back!

okay, i have my hands on a modded xbox (xenium ice chip), now what do i do so i can unlock that hard drive from the non-working xbox that i have been having so much trouble with? hope your still with me on this Return!

 

did you flash bios? try to download the x2 5032 bios and the editor for x2 5032 bios from xbins.

also download AID and burn it to CD/DVD
