Ok it found about 10 channels, most of which don't work. Eurosport works but is again very jumpy.

Could it be my connections are loose? or I'm just in a poor area? (I have trouble getting a clear signal on normal tv / freeview as it is). as I said I will be going away for the day now so will try anything else tomorrow, but would another box have more success? I may be able to acquire a different one.

Also, my internet signal is perfect so i don't see why the tv one would be struggling so much.

Afternoon gents :) I think you would have been close enough with HiTeck's CDF, but you had probably looked at channels on a TP that was missing or it needed to be off set. Or indeed that the channel is just not available to you given your location.

Yes you could check all your connections and make sure if you are doing a scan, do it without any splitters. I still have a funny feeling you are in the analogue part of Bolton. If you can get your hand on an analogue box for your area I can guarantee it will work.

But as I stated yesterday, the SR was incorrect, you have now corrected it. The CDF HiTeck gave you was close to what you needed but you had to add some TPs, edit others, and basically do a slight adjustment to all.

We can help you with that, but you need to help us too ;) A few screen shots of your TP table would be helpful after your 6952 powerscan would go a long way. We need to see what you are seeing to a point.

But as you rightly surmised if your cabling isnt spot on then you obviously will be having problems. Just because your BB is OK it doesn't necessitate that the signal to the EV is.

If you are in an analogue area there may also be a line filter as well as an isolator in use in your omni box, i.e. external VM box.

There are a few variables, so you help us and we should get you sorted :)

So what do you want me to do? Check my connections, remove the splitter for the time being, load the cdf and do another power scan? and then record the tp screen?

Just did a power scan and it picked up more frwquenciez but only 6 tvch channels, noine of which connected. however this time it said 'no audio / video' and then changed to the no signal, and back again etc. Any ideas now? it seems to be getting worse :(

(the signal and quality jumped from 0 - 100%)

Do you have friends or family nearby that you could try it in their house?

Try this first, please do a factory reset and add these TPs manually. To add these freq's you need to go to installation, green button for ch edit, red button add TP, enter freq and symbol rate 6952.

Press ok, then repeat these steps until all frequencies are added. When they're all in press exit and go back to first page of install menu. press the red button for update channels. Here are the list of frequencies to install:

    459.000
    394.750
    594.750
    466.750
    730.750
    338.750
    666.750
    538.750
    474.750
    410.750
    738.750
    346.750
    282.750
    418.750
    746.750
    354.750
    682.750
    290.750
    554.750
    426.750
    362.750
    626.750
    562.750
    434.750
    370.750
    570.750
    442.750
    378.750
    578.750
    450.750
    386.750
    714.750
    522.750

All at symbol rate 6952. I know it's a bit of work, but you can try them one by one and see what you get. It is important to do the scan from the wall to box, take out any splitters.

no. The thing is i know the box works. about a year and a half ago my brother got a Eurovox Max V and it works in his house (in stoke). My mum bought herself one of these boxes and me one too. My bro set up this box and hers whilst in macclesfield. however since shes deaf and subtitles weren't working he swapped her eurovox ex1000 with his max v.

anyway he dropped me off here (bolton) and set up my box. couldn't get it working. We tried the other one that was working in macclesfield for a few hours (on tuesday i was watching it, and on wednesday was when he changed the max v box). anyway that's the box I have now.

Like i said, we had a bit more success with whatever frequencies / firmware he was using but it didn't help much really, everything was still unwatchable it just found it. I can't remember what he was using but I will ask him and see if he can remember (we tried about 10 different things but because he had to go home couldn't finish it off).

There's noone in bolton that we can test it with really.

Right I did that. the first 25 frequencies went really quickly on the screen then the final ones took ages. I found 6 channels and about 4 radio stations, none of which would connect.

Now what? the signal strength on some of these frequencies was around the 90% mark so something must be working :/

I seem to remember my bro used the chatterbox toolbar and the secret menu (1968). What he did with them i don't know though. does it sound familiar? I did go to the secret menu and change a value, do you think this is what's made it worse? (He seemed to be having much more success than I am).

Ive got a really bad technical problem. When i put my tv on av channel 4 my eurov*x, a humming noise started a couple of days ago. This morning, the noise is still there, but now the picture bounces! Tried different c*ble lead, thats not the problem. Any ideas? Think its the socket that my c*ble lead plugs in2? If it is, can i buy sumfink2replace it? Or do u think its sumfin else?
