none that I know of. The cable comes out of a little white box on the wall straight into the VM box. The VM channel is perfect.
Try it out at your brothers, but I know it is an attenuator/equalizer problem similar to what happened here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/69/531375
Good news (I think) It works perfect at my bro's house so where do I go now? Thanks for your help so far by the way. My bro has got an 8db equalizer if that would be any use????????
An attenuator basically wastes power, to deliver a required level to the STB. The forward path equaliser attenuates the lower frequencies more than the higher frequencies. The RF network itself tends to attenuate the high frequencies so at the headend the high frequencies are given a little more power. But once you get to the home you want roughly level signals from all frequencies, and if the lower frequencies levels are too high as the network has attenuated the high frequencies too much, the equaliser is designed to level them out. Best bet is to set it up as your brother has as long as he is in the same neighbourhood. If not take out the equaliser and replace it with a variable slope control booster like this one http://www.beststuff.co.uk/konig_amp-pro30.htm
Cheers. I've just ordered one. Do I just plug it in with the box on and adjust it til the picture is right?
Yep thats it and also remove any other equaliser/attenuator from you line. Plug the direct feed into the booster and then plug from the booster to the Eurovox.
Howdy. Not got it yet, although I had hoped to have it today but never mind. I hope it works and I get the damned thing working perfect. Will adjusting the signal affect the picture on my VM S.T.B. or my analogue S.T.B I have upstairs? (Yes I am still watching an 8 year old Jerrold box)
