i see nothing about a "free version" on mine. it is the full version--all they're doing is giving away a license, probably a one-year license or something. it's a pretty good marketing move, as more people are likely to buy a renewal when they've seen how good it is for a while. this is ultra-convenient for me, as my cracked version ran out just a few weeks ago. ^.^ *edit* and yes, you do get updates. look at the information window...it's registered to VNU networks. it is the full version.
squijello , its the same verison only think different is you don't get tech support with this free verison
check the email they sent you and read just below step 5 in the instructions/... would they use this to add my email to some mailing list for their product or other products?
product updates is a refernce to version number. just like to go from nero 6 to 7, you couldn't just update; you had to pay for the new version. you still get definition updates and whatnot. they're not going to hook you up for spam.
im sooo confused... their product is really good, why are they giving it away for free! LOL i mean, im just not used it it i guess... ps... they sent a standardized username out... what does it refer to?
they're giving it away from free as a marketing scheme. what better way to advertise than with an extended trial, which is all this amounts to. the standardized username is just to remind you that they own the license--they're just giving it to you until it runs out. this little deal of theirs is Dancing Hitler Approved. don't worry so much about it. just use it! the deal is good, i promise. ^.~
I'm glad I seen this thread. I used it and found 62 instnaces. All clean now. Auslander---love that .gif I might have to "borrow" it with the unspoken understanding not to repost it in Ad or claim I made it...
oh, don't worry about that...i didn't make it--the girlfriend sent it to me and she can't remember where she found it.
