Pc-Cillin internet security 2005 is very good but the spyware scanner which is incorporated is crap. Trend micro has a seperate spyware program aswell which is'nt bad, but not free. For spyware, I think counterspy is a very good program. Adaware personal is starting to lag behind the rest these days.

    finished my cleaning

tell me if i did this right

    1. downloaded AVG and found no viruses
    2. downloaded spybot which found no threats
    3. downloaded ad-aware which found and deleted 11 objects
    4. downloaded ccleaner which deleted 503 mb out of about 20 gb used

after all this, my pc is still running slow

if there was any change, no human would be able to notice...i think im going to purge everything

Sometimes when my PC seems to be a bit on the slow side it's that some programs might have somehow gotten corrupt. They tend to stay running even when you shut them down hogging some of the memory and CPU power. In my case a fresh install of the OS, all the updates and fresh install of all softwares usually does the trick but I don't believe you can do this so maybe you should try uninstalling some of the more used software, doing a clean-up with some software designed to clean out anything left after the uninstalls, maybe even a registry cleaning software as well. Maybe try running all those programs again just to make sure. Then try reinstalling the software you removed and make sure to update them. Hopefully that could help a bit. Otherwise, complete format and reinstall of the OS might be the only solution.
